1 PRESS RELEASE Christopher Protsman Chief of Police Released: March 5, 2018 POLICE BLOTTER Monday February 19, Officers were dispatched to 2558 Circleview dr. on the report of a disturbance. A witness advised that two males were fighting outside and then went inside the house. Crews located Matthew I. Breen (W/M/24) at the residence. Breen initially lied about his name and was later found to be hiding Darrell M. Jones (B/M/29), who refused to come out of the residence. Additional officers arrived to assist. Jones was found hiding in the attic. Jones had been trespassed from the residence. Breen was charged with Obstructing Official Business and Jones was charged with Trespassing and Obstructing Official Business. Both were transported to KPD Jail without incident An officer conducted a traffic stop on Wilmington at Stroop for a moving violation. The passenger, James Ray (W/M/45) was acting suspiciously and making furtive movements. Additional officers responded to assist. Ray was found to have suspected methamphetamine and a pipe on his person. He was arrested for Possession of Drugs and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was transported to KPD Jail without incident An officer issued a summons to Alexander L. Hullinger (W/M/21) for Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia and issued a summons to Sarah L. Phillips (W/F/19) for Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia An officer made contact with a male inside the UDF at 2200 E. Dorothy, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs. A check of the subject through LEADS revealed two warrants. Upon confirmation Christopher J. Wolf (W/M/37), was arrested for a Miami Twp. warrant for FTA on an original charge of theft, and an MCSO warrant for aggravated possession of drugs. Upon searching Wolf, two candy bars were located which he admitted to stealing at UDF. In speaking with Wolf, there were indications he car he had driven to UDF had been stolen. Upon contact with the owner he confirmed it had

2 been reported to Washington Twp but apparently was not yet entered. Wolf was also charged with Theft and RSP Tuesday, February 21, Several officers responded on the report of a female attempting entry to houses in the area of 1528 Bauer. Mary K. Peyton, W/F/35, was located and attempted to evade officers in the area. Peyton admitted to having a large knife in one of her purses. The knife was an M8 military bayonet. Peyton was arrested for CCW and transported to the KPD Jail An officer conducted a traffic stop after a random registration check indicated the driver had a warrant. Upon speaking to the driver, Joseph L. Huffman III (W/M/21), it was confirmed there were 2 warrants for his arrest. Huffman was wanted by Springfield and Dayton Police Departments, both for DUS. He was arrested without incident Officers were dispatched to 1315 Devon Apt C for a disturbance. Upon arrival, they located Shawn C. Heeter Sr. (W/M/26). They arrested Heeter after learning he had an active Dayton PD warrant for Falsification, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Drug Abuse Instruments Wednesday, February 21, An officer assisted the detective section on a search warrant in which Robert R Carls III, w/m, 35, was arrested on MCSO Warrants, original charges of Drug Trafficking & Drug Possession, and transported to KPD Jail Officers followed a tip that a wanted subject was currently at 4722 Croftshire Apt 2A. They located the subject, Dylan J Judd, w/m, 24, who was arrested on the MCSO Probation Warrant, with original charge of Possession of Drugs (Heroin), and transported to KPD Jail Officers responded to the Marathon Gas Station on Wilmington Pk on a report of an intoxicated subject causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, the subject had left, but was located in the area of Meijer s. Gary J Smith, w/m, 58, was arrested for disorderly intox and open container, and transported to KPD Jail An officer was dispatched to 1901 W. Stroop Road to meet a West Carrollton PD officer for two subjects on a warrant transfer. Daziah Y. Sales, B/F/18, and Fatima T. Austin, B/F/18, were taken into custody. Both were arrested for

3 original warrants for assault from the same incident. Ptl. Engles responded to the jail and accomplished the paperwork for the arrests An officer issued a summons to Mary A. Conley (B/F/28) for Disorderly Conduct/ Public Intoxication due to an overdose at The Southside Club, 3040 Valleywood, in her vehicle in the parking lot Thursday, February 22, An officer conducted a traffic stop near 5959 Bigger Rd. for an equipment violation. Upon investigation, it was discovered that Eugene H. Hurt (B/M/46) had an active warrant through Clark County for FTA on the original charge of a traffic violation. Another officer responded to assist. The warrant was confirmed and Hurt was taken into custody and transported to KPD Jail without incident Joshua M. Harenberg, W/M/42, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct/public intoxication Deontaye R. Trammell, B/M/22, was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia (marijuana) Daniell M. Brown, B/F/39, was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia (marijuana) An officer stopped a vehicle a Smithville and Moler for failing to dim high beams. A LEADS check revealed one of the passengers in the vehicle had a warrant, and another officer responded to assist. Upon confirmation of the Butler Twp. warrant for theft Davonna D. Battles (B/F/24) was placed under arrest and transported to KPD jail While assisting another officer on a traffic stop at 2325 Wilmington Pike, an officer observed another vehicle pulled up nearby. The occupants of the 1 st vehicle were asked if they knew who it was, and a female advised it was her boyfriend and provided his information. A LEADS check revealed he had a warrant and contact was made. Upon confirmation Matthew J. Dorsten (U/M/38) was arrested for the Vandalia PD warrant for FTA on theft charge, and transported to KPD Summons for marijuana possession Jane C. Sturgeon W/F/ Summons for marijuana paraphernalia Kelvin M. Muncy W/M/

4 Friday, February 23, An officer initiated a traffic stop at S. Dixie and Cardington. The driver, Clarence T. Razor, B/M/33, was found to have no driver license and showing two previous convictions in the past three years. Razor was arrested for no operator s license and transported to the Kettering Jail An officer was advised of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Meijer, 4075 Wilmington Pike. The witness advised the occupants appeared to be tweaking and bouncing around the vehicle. Officers made contact with the occupants. A consent search of the vehicle ultimately led to numerous charges. The driver, Heather S. Muth, W/F/29, was charged with possession of a drug abuse instrument, drug paraphernalia, and criminal trespass (previously trespassed from Meijer). The rear seat passengers were also arrested. Charles F. Roberds, W/M/24, was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments. Michael R. Horn, W/M/38, was found to have an entered Butler County warrant and also had been previously trespassed from Meijer. Horn was arrested for criminal trespass. The warrant was confirmed however Butler County did not have room in their jail and requested we advise him to contact their court. Muth, Roberds, and Horn were transported to the Kettering Jail. Muth stated her boyfriend, Joshua Burns, W/M/30, was inside Meijer. Burns was contacted and released. Further checks showed Burns had also been trespassed from Meijer. An officer located Burns walking near 3025 Wilmington Pike and issued him a summons for criminal trespass Officers attempted a warrant service at 1750 E. Dorothy Lane. Calin B. Fettig, W/M/20, was located at the address. The FTC Warrant was confirmed with dispatch and Fettig was arrested without incident. Fettig was transported to the Kettering Jail Officers responded to 2866 S. Dixie Hwy (Buckin Donkey bar) for a disorderly subject complaint. Upon arrival, they found Gurney H. Frieszell (W/M/54) in the parking lot. He was highly intoxicated and had great difficulty walking. He was arrested for Public Intoxication Officers responded to 3340 Hackney Dr for a family problem. Upon arrival they learned the victim s ex-husband was outside her home. Edward J. Brabston IV (W/M/48) had a protection order against him. He was arrested for violation the order Tonia L. Diaz (W/F/42) summons for possession of drug paraphernalia

5 Saturday, February 24, Officers responded to Kroger, 2115 E Dorothy Ln, on a shoplifting complaint in which the suspect was being held by loss prevention officers. Jesse Kidder, w/m, 36, was arrested for theft, a warrant through Butler Co (original charge of larceny), and a warrant through Dayton PD (original charge of FTA for traffic violation), and transported to KPD Jail An officer issued a summons to Brandon L. Branham (W/M/22) for Possession of Marijuana An officer issued a summons to Gayden L. Singleton (B/M/50) for Criminal Trespass Officers responded to 3028 Grace on a warrant service. Upon their arrival, they located Chadrick L. Hock (W/M/44). Hock had 3 active felony warrants through Montgomery County Juvenile Court for FTA on child support cases. The warrants were confirmed and he was taken into custody on the warrants and transported to KPD Jail without incident Officers were dispatched to Ridgeview and Southdale on the report of a disturbance. Upon their arrival, they located Steven E. Kline (W/M/58). Kline was highly intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He was arrested for Disorderly Conduct / Public Intoxication and transported to KPD Jail without incident An officer issued a summons to Christopher C. Morales (H/M/26) and Fred E. Brown (B/M/57) for Possession of Marijuana An officer issued a summons to Edward M. Broom, Jr. (B/M/57) for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Crack Pipe) at the Budget An officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Patterson and Barney for an equipment violation. Investigation revealed that Christopher Jones (W/M/27) had an active warrant through Dayton for FTA / DUS and Greene County for Possession of Drugs. Joseph M. Davis (W/M/34) had an active felony warrant through Montgomery County for Aggravated Possession of Drugs and two Dayton warrants for Drug Abuse and Public Intoxication. Another officer arrived to assist. The warrants were confirmed and both subjects were taken into custody and transported to KPD Jail Officers responded to 3413 Braddock for a traffic crash. Upon arrival they determined Benjamin R. Osterfeld (W/M/30) had, while intoxicated, failed to

6 maintain reasonable control and struck a parked car. He failed SFST s and was arrested for OVI. He later refused a test of his breath An officer observed a suspicious vehicle at the Budget (2700 S. Dixie). The officer parked around the corner and approached on foot. A female was observed asking a male inside room #295 a question about drug paraphernalia. She observed the officer and she leapt inside the apartment, but not before the officer was able to see her and her boyfriend clearly. The officer was able to identify both and quickly learned they had warrants. After receiving no answer at the door, the officer spoke with the motel owner who advised he wanted all occupants removed and charged with trespassing. Ultimately, Anthony S. Winkler (W/M/36) was arrested for Criminal Trespassing a felony warrant out of Montgomery County for probation violation. Jessica L. Lochner (W/F/28) was arrested for Criminal Trespassing. She also had felony warrants out of two counties: Warren County for an original charge of Child Neglect and; Montgomery County felony probation violation. Brianna K. Duncan (W/F/25) was arrested for Criminal Trespass and the following four warrants: Montgomery County felony Weapons Offense; Sidney PD felony Burglary and felony Escape; Xenia PD FTA misdemeanor traffic offense. Brian L. Spradlin (W/M/36) was issued a summons for Criminal Trespass and released Sunday, February 25, An officer issued a summons to Charles L. Lane (W/M/44) for Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol While Operating a Motor Vehicle An officer conducted a traffic stop on Smithville at Alta Vista for an equipment violation. Investigation revealed the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The front seat passenger, Kenneth Shackleford (B/M/29), refused to exit the vehicle. Several crews arrived to assist and Shackleford exited. He was arrested for Obstruction of Official Business, Failure to Comply, and issued a summons for Possession of Marijuana An officer located a suspicious occupied vehicle in the parking lot of Arrow Wine, 2950 Far Hills Av. Investigation revealed that Breana Blackford (W/F/27) had an active warrant through Miami County and through Trotwood for Unauthorized Use of a MV. Additional officers responded to assist. Further investigation revealed that Joshua D. Smith (B/M/29) was in possession of suspected meth, a meth pipe, and hypodermic syringes. The warrants on Blackford were confirmed and she was taken into custody. Smith was charged with Possession of Drugs, Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They were both transported to KPD Jail without incident

7 2353 Officers responded to Kettering Medical Center 3535 Southern for a trespass complaint. Upon arrival they found Jamahl L. Stokes (B/M/33) in the lobby. He had been discharged from treatment but was refusing to leave. He had also been trespassed from the hospital days earlier. Stokes refused to leave and demanded cab fare from the hospital. KMC had provided him tokens for the bus but he refused to ride the RTA. He was arrested for Criminal Trespass An officer was dispatched to the Darke County Jail for a warrant service. Upon arrival, Robert W. Flippo Jr (W/M/27) was taken into custody. Flippo had an active Kettering PD warrant for FTC on an original charge of Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments Officers responded to an alarm at 2780 Culver (Genesis Systems). Upon arrival, signs of forced entry were observed to the rear steel door. At the same moment, Officers observed the suspect exiting through the front of the store. A foot pursuit ensued and he was captured a short distance away. Michael C. Griffin (B/M/39) was arrested for Breaking & Entering, Possession of Criminal Tools, Obstructing Official Business and felony Theft Chad W. Fleming Jr (W/M/21) summons possession of marijuana Roger L. Williams (W/M/21) summons possession of marijuana #####
