WHAT S NEW IN 2018 All Dairy Goats will be stalled on the first Floor of the Large Animal Pavilion. Delivery of Fodder, gear and animals to the pavilion will be through Gate 5, O Connell Tce and off loaded on the first level apron. Time of arrival will be confirmed after entries close. Final numbers need to be confirmed by 5:00pm Friday 27 July This form will be available online. Substitutions will now be available to be entered in your Exhibitor Account after close of entries. The Substitution closing date will be Tuesday 7 August 2018 at 5.00pm due to catalogue requirements and sponsors acknowledgements. We endeavour to include all substitutions in the Dairy Goat catalogue. 3 BIOSECURITY QUEENSLAND REGULATIONS IMPORTANT INFORMATION All Queenslanders have a general biosecurity obligation (GBO) under Queensland's Biosecurity Act 2014 (PDF, 1.5MB). Not complying with the GBO is an offence. This means that everyone is responsible for managing biosecurity risks that are: under their control and that they know about, or should reasonably be expected to know about. Under the GBO, individuals and organisations whose activities pose a biosecurity risk must: take all reasonable and practical steps to prevent or minimise each biosecurity risk minimise the likelihood of causing a biosecurity event, and limit the consequences if such an event is caused JOHNE S DISEASE for All animals It is your General Biosecurity Obligation as the exhibitor NOT to knowingly spread the disease. Any animal from suspected properties that have not yet been cleared by Biosecurity Queensland will not be accepted on to the showgrounds. Rules: Each exhibitor has an obligation to take all reasonable and practical measures to prevent the introduction into, and spread of Johne s disease within, Queensland. Exhibitors must not enter animal(s) which are reasonably known or suspected of being infected with Johne s disease, including animals which have been introduced with a significant likelihood of being infected. Exhibitors must supply a health statement/declaration that provides information about the health of the animal including Johne s risk. The health statement/declaration must not be false, incomplete or misleading. PREGNANT ANIMALS No animal expected to give birth during the Royal Queensland Show will be permitted entry onto the grounds and will be withdrawn from the competition. Any animal that gives birth after arrival at the showgrounds will be withdrawn from competition and will be removed from public exhibition and placed in an isolated stall nominated by the RNA unless permission to the contrary is given by the Council Stewards or, in their absence, by a Veterinary Surgeon. Entry fees will not be refunded. Dairy Goats should not be entered if their expected birth date is to/or likely to coincide with the Royal Queensland Show. The RNA Veterinarian is required to attend any birthing activity on Showgrounds, with the cost for their services and subsequent waste and cleaning fees incurred by the Exhibitor It is the responsibility of the Exhibitor s onsite to be aware of and adhere to the Australian Animal Welfare Standards and Guidelines, notably but not restricted to the Land Transportation of Livestock and Model Code of Practice for the Welfare of Animals. Under normal circumstances, animals which are more than 130 days pregnant should not be transported. Animals that have recently given birth should not be transported until at least 72 hours after birthing. Caprine arthritis and encephalitis (CAE). Rules: Each exhibitor has an obligation to take all reasonable and practical measures to prevent the introduction of CAE into the RNA grounds.

5 GENERAL REGULATIONS AND ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES Judging will be performed by a panel of Judges appointed by the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland. The RNA reserves the right at all times at its absolute discretion without assigning any reason to: (a) substitute a Judge when necessary; (b) re-allocate Judging days for a particular breed. (c) if entries numbers require an extra Judge, appoint an additional Judge if necessary. The attention of Exhibitors is drawn to the fact that entries are accepted subject to the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland Act 1971, and to the Rules, By-Laws and Regulations of the Association, in addition to the Special Regulations which appear in this schedule. Copies of the Rules and By-Laws may be obtained upon application to the Competitions Department. No refunds will be made after close of entry. The Licensee shall not conduct or operate any gambling game(s) or games of chance or dispose of any article by lot or chance, or sell any raffle tickets of any nature whatsoever unless these activities have been approved by RNA Management. Exhibitors and competitors wishing to conduct a competition, including a give-away promotion or guessing competition must ensure they comply with the relevant legislation. NOTICE TO INTENDING EXHIBITORS Entries for 2018 can be made either on the Application to Enter Form enclosed with this schedule or online at Entries submitted other than on the correct form or online will be returned to the Exhibitor and, unless all requirements are complied with and the forms returned to the office by 5.00pm on the Application to Enter closing date, as shown in the Schedule, they will not be considered. PRIVACY STATEMENT You can be assured that the privacy of your personal information is of the utmost importance to us. The information provided by you in any application for membership or application to enter is used by the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) to offer member services or to organise and conduct competitions at the Royal Queensland Show. By applying for membership or entering such competitions you consent to provide such details as your name, address and exhibit details. Competition information may be made available to the media and included in RNA publications. Your information will not be disclosed without your consent for any other purpose unless required by the law. You may request access to your information and request that our records of that information be corrected by contacting our Privacy Officer (07) or by writing to the RNA, Locked Bag 1010, ALBION QLD GOODS AND SERVICES TAX The RNA s ABN is ENTRY FORMS Exhibitors must complete STATEMENT BY EXHIBITOR section on the front page of the entry form advising their taxation status. PRIZE MONEY Prize Money stated in the Schedule excludes GST. GST will be added to the Prize Money for Exhibitors who are registered for GST purposes. Prize money will be paid into your nominated bank account after the 31 October The Association will provide a Recipient Created Tax Invoice to Exhibitors who are registered for GST purposes. All cash prizes and trophies must be claimed within six months from the closing date of the Royal Queensland Show. Prizes not claimed and prize cheques not presented by that date will be considered to have lapsed, and the amount will become a donation to the Association. (RNA By-Laws) WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY 1. The Brisbane Showgrounds are a designated Workplace within the meaning of the Workplace Health and Safety Act 2011 and exhibitors/competitors are required to ensure that they and all persons under their direction or control, including their contractors or sub-contractors, comply with all requirements of the Act and the RNA holds each exhibitor responsible to discharge its obligations to provide and maintain a safe place and system of work during occupation by the exhibitor/competitor of any area of the Showgrounds. 2. Each exhibitor/competitor will assess the risk to themselves, staff, volunteers, family, other exhibitors, RNA staff, show visitors, children and any person foreseeably affected by the presentation of their exhibit. 3. Risks identified by exhibitors/competitors will be eliminated or controlled by the exhibitor/competitor and particular attention will be paid to ensuring public safety and safety of other exhibitors/competitors. 4. Exhibits will only be held and handled by competent persons whose experience is known to the exhibitor/competitor. 5. A No Smoking Policy will be strictly adhered to and policed by exhibitors/competitors and exhibitors/competitors are advised that the use of Primus stoves, any heating or lighting appliances of a like character, or any naked light, is strictly prohibited in the pavilions. 6. Any exhibitors/competitors intending to bring electrical equipment to the Showgrounds will be required to ensure that such equipment is fitted with residual current protection and that all electrical leads, tools and appliances have been inspected by a licensed electrical contractor and currently tagged. The use of double adaptors is prohibited and all power boards must also be tested and tagged. 7. All exhibitors/competitors will comply with the requirements of the Act and its Regulations and Standards in every other respect. This is essential for the safety of all exhibitors/competitors and the general public. The Act imposes very severe penalties in the event of noncompliance with its provisions. Any exhibitors/competitors who do not comply will not be allowed to exhibit at the Brisbane Exhibition. 8. The Brisbane Showgrounds is subject to a Special Facility License issued under the Liquor Act 1992 and strict laws related to the consumption and possession of liquor across the Brisbane Showgrounds site. The consumption or possession of liquor outside of the licensed bar areas is not authorised by the RNA and in many cases may be an offence for which on the spot fines can be issued by Police and Liquor Licensing Investigators. PRODUCE STORE CONTACT DETAILS The attention of Exhibitors is drawn to the following extracts from the RNA By-Laws. DISEASE OR DANGER 9. Should there be any reason to suspect that any Exhibit is either diseased or dangerous, or objectionable, the Council through its Officials, reserves the rights of removing the same from or refusing its admittance to the Royal Queensland Show. 10. An Exhibitor who detects or suspects any illness amongst any of his entries whilst the animals are at the Showgrounds must: (a) Report this fact immediately to the Superintendent responsible for that particular section; (b) Ensure that the animal/s is/are contained within its/their accommodation area/s unless advised otherwise by the Superintendent or the Association s Veterinary Surgeon; and (c) Where feasible to do so, contain soiled bedding from the animal/s within its/their accommodation area. 11. Council may at its discretion require to have any biological tests carried out on any animal exhibited at the Royal Queensland Show or to have materials collected from such animals in order to have tests carried out, after such animals arrive at the Showgrounds.

6 12. If in the opinion of a Council Steward of a Section, an Exhibit in such Section requires Veterinary treatment then if the Exhibitor cannot be contacted immediately, the Council Stewards may instruct a Veterinary Surgeon to treat such Exhibit and the costs of such Veterinary Surgeon shall be paid by the Exhibitor to the Association. The Association shall not be in any way liable to an Exhibitor for any damage to or injury to such Exhibit. 13. Where, in the opinion of the Association, an Exhibit, being an animal, should be destroyed or removed from the Showgrounds, the Association s Veterinary Surgeon or the Association may destroy or remove the Exhibit from the Showgrounds, or both. Alternatively, the Association may require the Exhibitor to destroy or remove the Exhibit from the Showgrounds, or both. Any costs incurred by the Association pursuant to this By-Law must be reimbursed by the Exhibitor. 14. The Association shall not be responsible for any loss or damage caused (inter alia) through disease or infection howsoever arising. PRIZE AWARDS 15. The Prize Ribbons, affixed to exhibits, shall be distinguished by the following colours, viz: Grand Champion Red, White and Blue Champion Purple Reserve Champion Dark Green First Blue Second Red Third White Fourth Yellow Fifth Light Green Sixth Brown Seventh Buff Eighth Pink Ninth Orange Tenth Grey Special Prizes Pale Blue 16. For Group Classes - Pink and Blue, Pink and Red, Pink and White, Pink and Yellow for First, Second, Third and Forth respectively. UNETHICAL CONDUCT 17. The Exhibitor, the Owner or any person in charge of an animate Exhibit shall not engage in unethical conduct. The Exhibitor, the Owner or any person in charge of an animal to which unethical conduct relates are deemed to have acted in breach of this By-Law, whether or not having been knowingly concerned in the unethical conduct. The Council or relevant Sectional Committee shall decide whether or not any conduct constitutes unethical conduct but without in any way restricting the meaning of that expression, unethical conduct may include the presentation as an exhibit for judging: (a) of an animal other than in its natural conformation after normal feeding and grooming, except as otherwise provided either expressly or by necessary implication in the regulation or in the definition of a class in which the animal is entered; (b) of any animal having undergone any operation or procedure materially altering the structure or natural conformation of any part of its body, whether by the introduction of any substance or thing subcutaneously, or by any surgery, or by the administration of any substance or chemical or by the attachment of any object or thing; (c) of any animal having undergone any operation or procedure that changes by exaggeration, minimisation or otherwise in natural conformation or physical constitution or appearance; (d) of an inanimate object, that is created, constituted, formed or includes goods, substances or things not normally found in objects of like nature; (e) that is not the animal or the object or thing entered for the Class to be judged; (f) in breach of the Regulation. 18. An exhibitor, or person in charge of an animate exhibit must: a. use all reasonable steps to ensure that the exhibit is housed and cared for in accordance with the Association s current animal welfare policy; b. obey any direction from a member of the Association s Council, or from any other official of the Association, relating to the care and welfare of that or any other exhibit; c. if called upon to do so, surrender the exhibit to the Association, in circumstances where in the reasonable opinion of the Association s Veterinarian, the exhibit is in need of urgent veterinary attention. 19. An exhibitor must not use, or have in his possession, any electric or electronic apparatus or any improper contrivance capable of affecting the performance of an exhibit. EXHIBIT UNWORTHY OF AWARD 20. An exhibit shall not receive an award if in the opinion of the Judge it is unworthy of such award. PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES 21. A Person must not administer a Prohibited Substance or cause one to be administered to an Exhibit, except as permitted by the By- Laws or the Regulations. 22. The Exhibitor, the Owner and Attendant of any Exhibit to which a Prohibited Substance has been administered is in breach of the By- Laws unless the Prohibited Substance is: a. permitted by the by-laws to be administered; and b. administered to the Exhibit in accordance with the procedures set out in the By-Laws. 23. An Exhibit to which a Prohibited Substance has been administered in breach of the By-Laws must be removed from the Showground upon demand by the Association. 24. The administering of antibiotics may be permitted provided: a. a Treatment Notification Form is submitted in accordance with the By-Laws; or b. in the case where a Treatment Notification Form has already been submitted, the antibiotics are administered in accordance with the procedures set out in the By-Laws. 25. A Treatment Notification Form must be: a) completed if a Prohibited Substance has been administered to an Exhibit within: (i) in the case of hormones and their synthetic counterparts, cortico steroids and anabolic steroids, 180 days; and (ii) in all other cases, 14 days, before the day of Exhibition; b) signed by a qualified veterinarian; c) submitted to the Superintendent s office of the relevant section by 6pm on the day before the Day of Exhibition. 26. An incomplete Treatment Notification Form may be rejected by the Association and if that occurs, the Exhibit must not compete in any events unless, prior to that event: (a) the Exhibit has been examined as contemplated by By-Law 124; (b) the Exhibitors has paid to the Association an examination fee as determined by the relevant Sectional Committee; and; (c) permission to compete has been given in writing by the Chairman of the Veterinary Committee or the Association s Veterinary Surgeon. 27. A Prohibited Substance must not be administered to an Exhibit after submission of the Treatment Notification Form in respect of that exhibit except: a) with prior written permission of the Chairman of the Veterinary Committee or; b) by Association s Veterinary Surgeon. 28. Where there has been compliance with the Regulation, an Exhibit to which a Prohibited Substance has been administered may be Exhibited: (a) at the discretion of the Chairman of the relevant Sectional Committee who may consult with the Chairman of the Veterinary Committee; and (b) subject to such conditions as the Chairman of the relevant Sectional Committee may impose. 29. The Association may in its discretion and at any time, cause an examination to be made of an Exhibit by a Veterinary Surgeon who, in the course of such examination, may: a. take such samples (including, without limitation, urine, blood, saliva and faeces) from such Exhibit as he considers necessary or advisable; b. have such samples tested by such methods and procedures as he considers appropriate; and c. examine the Exhibit for desensitised limbs. 30. Any Exhibit found by a Veterinary Surgeon to have a limb (or part thereof) desensitised is deemed to have had administered to it a Prohibited Substance in breach of the By-Laws.

Where, prior to an event, a Veterinary Surgeon is of the opinion that a Prohibited Substance may have been administered to an Exhibit, the Veterinary Surgeon may require that the Exhibit be examined prior to competing in that event. 32. The Association may publish procedures relating to the examination of Exhibits. Such procedures are binding on Exhibitors, Owners and Attendants. (c) of the Association by an exhibitor and relating to an exhibit or to a competition, except if the alleged breach is of a kind that the Chairman of a Sectional Committee considers is of a less serious nature and should properly be dealt with by the Sectional Committee, and any other alleged breach of the Rules, By-Laws and Regulations of the Association that may be referred to Disciplinary Committee pursuant to By-Law 137 (a). 33. Any exhibit which has been brought to the Showgrounds and is found to have had administered to it any prohibited substance as defined above may, without prejudice to any other action which may be taken in respect of the matter, be debarred by the Council Stewards from competing in any event for which it may have been entered. 34. Subject to the By-Laws, the exhibitor, the owner and any person in charge of an animal to which a prohibited substance has been administered, by any person, and whether or not with the knowledge of the exhibitor, owner or person in charge, is deemed to have acted in breach of this By-Law. 35. No person shall have in his possession on the Showgrounds any prohibited substance, syringe, needle or other instrument which could be used to administer a prohibited substance to an animate Exhibit, unless that person shall have obtained the permission of the Association to be in such possession, or satisfies the Association that such possession is lawful and proper use. 36. The Association and any Council Steward servant or agent of the Association shall not be liable to an exhibitor for the death of or for injury damage or infection which may be sustained by his exhibit occasioned by or arising out of any act or omission of any Council Steward, servant or agent of the Association during the course of the testing of the exhibit whether due to the negligence of any such Council Steward, servant or agent or otherwise. PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES - DEFINITION 'Prohibited Substance' means any substance originating externally to an animal (and whether or not endogenous to the animal) capable of affecting the performance or behaviour of the animal by it s action upon: (a) (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) (g) the central or peripheral nervous system; the cardiovascular system; the respiratory system; the alimentary digestive system; the musculo-skeletal system; the urogenital system; or the endocrine system. and includes without limitation: (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) (vi) (vii) (viii) (ix) (x) (xi) (xii) (xiii) (xiv) (xv) (xvi) (xvii) analgesics; anti-histamines; anti-inflammatory agents; blood anti-coagulants; diuretics; hormones and their synthetic counterparts; cortico-steroids; anabolic steroids; local anaesthetics; muscle relaxants; tranquillisers; vitamins; antibiotics; stimulants; glues and bleaches; silver compounds; schedule drugs. DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE 37. It there is any inconsistency between By-laws and any other By-laws of the Association, By-laws will prevail. Functions of the Disciplinary Committee 38. The functions of the Disciplinary Committee shall be to hear and determine all complaints, allegations and other matters relating to: Constitution of the Disciplinary Committee 39. The Disciplinary Committee shall comprise of such members of Council as are appointed by the Council from time to time. 40. The Council shall appoint a member of the Disciplinary Committee as Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee. 41. For the purposes of any proceedings of the Disciplinary Committee, the Disciplinary Committee shall comprise, subject to By-law 137, no less than three of its members and those persons shall constitute the Disciplinary Committee for the purpose of those proceedings. 42. If a member of the Disciplinary Committee dies or becomes otherwise unable or unwilling to participate in proceedings, then: (a) (b) if this occurs prior to the commencement of any hearing in relation to the matter, the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee shall appoint a replacement; and, if this occurs after the commencement of any hearing in relation to the matter, the remaining members of the Disciplinary Committee shall constitute the Committee for the purposes of concluding the proceedings. Initiation of Proceedings before the Disciplinary Proceedings 43. Proceedings before the Disciplinary Committee may be initiated: (a) (b) (c) upon the request, orally or in writing, of the President, any Chairman of a Sectional Committee or Chief Executive. upon receipt by the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of a written complaint relating to a matter referred to in paragraphs (a) or (b) of By-law 133. by the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee on his or her own motion. Conduct of Proceedings 44. The Disciplinary Committee may conduct proceedings at any time between 6.00am and 11.00pm on any day. 45. All persons who constitute the Disciplinary Committee for the purposes of any proceedings must be present at any hearing conducted by the Disciplinary Committee. 46. A person whose conduct is called into question in any proceedings before the Disciplinary Committee must be given notice of a hearing. It shall be sufficient for such notice to be given orally and by any such person acting with the apparent authority of the Association. 47. The Disciplinary Committee may conduct proceedings notwithstanding that any person who has been given notice fails to attend the proceedings. 48. The Disciplinary Committee shall not be bound by any rules of evidence and shall conduct the proceedings with the minimum of formality and in such a manner as it sees fit. 49. The Disciplinary Committee may require any member or exhibitor to attend at any proceedings of the Disciplinary Committee and to furnish such information and evidence and to produce such documents relevant to the proceedings as to the Disciplinary Committee seems fit. 50. The Disciplinary Committee may, at its discretion, call for and hear expert evidence. 51. No person will be legally represented without the leave of the Disciplinary Committee. Decisions of the Disciplinary Committee (a) (b) prohibited substances, as defined in these By-laws or Sectional Regulations. any alleged breach of the Rules, By-Laws and Regulations 52. The Disciplinary Committee may announce its decision orally or in writing. A decision that is announced orally shall have effect in accordance with its terms.

8 53. If the opinion of the Disciplinary Committee is not unanimous, the decision of the majority shall prevail. If the Disciplinary Committee are equally divided on any question concerning the guilt or innocence of a person, the question shall be resolved in that person s favour. PENALTIES 54. If the Disciplinary Committee considers that there has been a breach of the rules, By-laws or regulations of the Association, it may impose such a penalty as it considers to be appropriate, including without limitation: (a) (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) (g) (h) (i) (j) (k) (l) a reprimand; a monetary fine (payable at such time/s as the Disciplinary Committee may determine); withdrawal or withholding of any award or ribbon; disqualification in respect of any class; expulsion from the Showground; where the person concerned is a member, a suspension or termination of that membership; a ban; exclusion; prohibiting a Person from exhibiting or competing at the current Show or at any future Show; a direction that an Exhibit be removed from the Showground; any other mandatory requirement; and any other penalty provided for in other regulations of the Association. 55. There shall be no appeal from any decision of the Disciplinary Committee. Publication of Results of Disciplinary Procedures 56. The Association may publish to: (a) (b) (c) all Royal Show Societies in Australia; the relevant Breed Societies; the body with which the exhibit is registered, or is eligible for registration; the result of any proceedings before the Disciplinary Committee in which a person has been found guilty of a breach of any Rule, By- Law or Regulation. 57. The Association shall have no liability to any person in respect of any publication referred to in paragraph (a). 58. No person shall have any claim against the Association or against any Councillor, member, employee or agent of the Association in respect of any act, matter or thing done in good faith during or in connection with the proceedings before the Disciplinary Committee. GENERAL DAIRY GOAT REGULATIONS Please read the following general Regulations carefully. Subject to the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland Act 1971 and to the Rules and By-Laws of the Association the following Regulations shall apply. ACCOMMODATION All exhibitors please note that there is only limited accommodation on grounds. All exhibitors are recommended to seek offsite accommodation. No refunds will be made once a key/card has left the showgrounds The Exhibitor agrees to properly supervise all children nominated above and to indemnify RNA against any loss or damage to RNA property and against all liability, claims, costs and expenses in any way connected with the attendance of the Exhibitor and any other person nominated above at the RNA Showground, to the extent that such loss, damage, liability, claims, costs or expenses arise from any breach by the Exhibitor of this agreement or from any negligent or wilful act or default of the Exhibitor. PREGNANT ANIMALS No animal expected to give during the Royal Queensland Show will be permitted entry onto the grounds and will be withdrawn from the competition. Any animal that gives birth after arrival at the showgrounds will be withdrawn from competition and will be removed from public exhibition and placed in an isolated stall nominated by the RNA unless permission to the contrary is given by the Council Stewards or, in their absence, by a Veterinary Surgeon. Entry fees will not be refunded. Dairy Goats should not be entered if their expected birth date is to/or likely to coincide with the Royal Queensland Show. The RNA Veterinarian is required to attend any birthing activity on Showgrounds, with the cost for their services and subsequent waste and cleaning fees incurred by the Exhibitor It is the responsibility of the Exhibitor s onsite to be aware of and adhere to the Australian Animal Welfare Standards and Guidelines, notably but not restricted to the Land Transportation of Livestock and Model Code of Practice for the Welfare of Animals. Under normal circumstances, animals which are more than 130 days pregnant should not be transported. Animals that have recently given birth should not be transported until at least 72 hours after birthing. BIOSECURITY QUEENSLAND REGULATIONS All Queenslanders have a general biosecurity obligation (GBO) under Queensland's Biosecurity Act 2014 (PDF, 1.5MB). Not complying with the GBO is an offence. This means that everyone is responsible for managing biosecurity risks that are: under their control and that they know about, or should reasonably be expected to know about. Under the GBO, individuals and organisations whose activities pose a biosecurity risk must: take all reasonable and practical steps to prevent or minimise each biosecurity risk minimise the likelihood of causing a biosecurity event, and limit the consequences if such an event is caused The following conditions will apply to stock and Vehicles moving on to the Brisbane Showgrounds MAJOR CHANGES: All stock entering RNA grounds must meet the national Johnes requirements. Exhibitors from interstate must advise their Johne s Disease status at the time of entry. STOCK GENERAL: Only tick free stock will be allowed entry to the grounds. EXHIBITORS REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING: National Vendor Declaration and Waybill, or Movement Record Document National Goat Health Declaration Goat Johnes declaration NSW livestock owners can travel direct to the RNA showgrounds and check their paperwork with RNA appointed staff on entry. RNA staff will then inform NSW livestock owner, in writing, that they MUST contact Kirra Yards on and inform them of their return journey 24 hours prior to leaving the RNA showgrounds. 9 JOHNE S DISEASE All animals It is your General Biosecurity Obligation as the exhibitor NOT to knowingly spread the disease. Any animal from suspected properties that have not yet been cleared by Biosecurity Queensland will not be accepted on to the showgrounds. Rules: Each exhibitor has an obligation to take all reasonable and practical measures to prevent the introduction into, and spread of Johne s disease within, Queensland. Exhibitors must not enter animal(s) which are reasonably known or suspected of being infected with Johne s disease, including animals which have been introduced with a significant likelihood of being infected. Exhibitors must supply a health statement/declaration that provides information about the health of the animal including Johne s risk. The health statement/declaration must not be false, incomplete or misleading. Exhibitors from interstate must advise their Johne s Disease status at the time of entry. CAPRINE RETRO VIRUS (CRV) (a) Animals are from a completely accredited free (AF) herd under a recognised CRV Accreditation scheme CAPRINE ARTHIRTIS AND ENCEPHALITIS (CAE). Rules: Each exhibitor has an obligation to take all reasonable and practical measures to prevent the introduction of CAE into the RNA grounds. Exhibitors must not enter animal(s) which are reasonably known or suspected of being infected with CAE, including animals which have been introduced with a significant likelihood of being infected. FODDER AND BEDDING REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS: Fire Ant Requirements: For hay grown outside the Fire Ant Area- moving to the Brisbane Showgrounds there are no restrictions For Hay grown within the Fire Ant Risk Area - moving to the Brisbane Showgrounds: Exhibitors purchasing hay from hay producers within the Fire Ant Restricted Area need to ensure that the producer is on an Approved Risk Management Plan (ARMP) for Fire Ants and is complying with their agreed risk mitigation factors, which include freshly made hay where the hay has been raked at least twice within 24 hours of baling. The hay is baled within 24 hours of the last turn and if the baled hay is removed from the paddock within 24 hours of baling, it may move to any destination within Queensland with no further requirements. Stored Hay The stored hay should have been made in accord with the above requirements, prior to storage hay stored within the Fire ant Restricted Area must be stored off the ground or on an approved hard stand, OR; The surrounding area to a distance of 30 metres from where hay has been stored on ground has been treated with a product registered for red imported fire ants 4 days prior to the movement, OR; The hay has been lured and the lures have been submitted to Biosecurity Queensland Control Centre and found to be free of Fire Ants. Visual surveillance for the presence of Fire Ants has been conducted on the surrounding area and also found to be visually free of the pest. Hay returning home from the Brisbane Showgrounds, Bowen Hills is located outside the Fire ant restricted area, therefore there is no restrictions on hay being moved within Queensland. Hay returning to Interstate destinations - please contact relevant Government Authority within the State in question to ensure their requirements are met. Cattle Tick Zone: Hay, Chaff, Silage and Green Fodder may only be introduced if: a. It is grown in and held in a Tick Free Zone and transported directly to the Brisbane Showgrounds, or b. It originates from a Cattle Tick Infected Zone but the fodder has not had contact with livestock in the nine months prior to entry to the Brisbane Showgrounds, or c. It is silage from a Cattle Tick Infected Zone, which has been harvested and wrapped in plastic for a period of not less than 28 days prior to entry to the Brisbane Showgrounds. DISCLAIMER: While the conditions of entry in regards to disease are correct at the time of publication it is the responsibility of the owner that all conditions current at the time of entry are met CERTIFICATES: The Caprine Retro Virus and Johne's Disease status of the herd must be endorsed on the Queensland DPI Travel Permit and in the case of Interstate Stock it should also be endorsed on the Certificate of Health/Waybill. 1. Any animal which in the opinion of the Council Stewards is not in a fit state to be exhibited may be rejected by them and debarred from competing in the class or classes for which it is entered. Any animal rejected must be removed from the Showgrounds as soon as the exhibitor is notified. 2. No Prohibited Substance shall be administered to any animal exhibit except with the permission of the Council Stewards, or under the direction of the Association's Veterinary Surgeon who shall advise the Council Stewards if, in his opinion, such Prohibited Substance has or is likely to have any effect upon the animal which would be material to its chance of being awarded a prize. In such case, a Council Steward may, in his absolute discretion, debar the animal from competing, and may otherwise deal with the exhibit under the Association s rules and regulations. 3. Exhibits that are under treatment on arrival at the Brisbane Showgrounds must have treatment sheets submitted to the Horse Superintendent's Office within 12 hours of arrival and scheduled pharmaceuticals must have authorisation of the prescribing Veterinary Surgeon. 4. Dairy Goats entered in this section must be registered in the name of the Exhibitor as owner, in a herd book recognized by the Association or recorded in the appendix register of the recording body. 5. Photocopies of Herd Book Registration Certificates for each animal and CRV Accreditation Certificates must be lodged with entry forms. 6. Doe entered in milk can be transferred to the dry class, if she has not kidded prior to judging day, or vice versa. Dairy Goats in or transferred to dry classes may be required to be stripped out under supervision at 9.00am on judging day. Only Dairy Goats entered in competitive classes and kids not more than seven days old will be permitted onto the Brisbane Showgrounds. 7. The age of all Dairy Goats to be calculated from the birth date shown on the kid's record and/or registration form up to 1 July All Dairy Goats shall be fed and attended to by the Exhibitors while the Dairy Goats remain on the Showgrounds. 9. The Grand Parade will be led by the Supreme Champion Dairy Doe followed by its breed. The remainder of the breeds will follow in order of numerical strength. 10. No Persons under the age of 10 years is permitted in the main ring during the Grand Parade. All handlers must be capable of controlling any animal in their care. 11. All persons leading stock during judging or the parades must wear a grey or white dustcoat. Stud identification names must not be displayed on clothing or equipment during judging. 12. There will be no restriction in the number of entries in any class with the exception of the doe/kid under twelve months classes which may be restricted by the Council Stewards, should an excess of entries warrant it. 13. It is the responsibility of each Exhibitor to ensure that the leaders of their stock in judging rings and parades are capable of exercising control over the animals in their care.

10 14. The Exhibitor irrevocably consents to the RNA publishing or reproducing in any manner whatsoever any particulars or information in relation to their Exhibits; the publication or reproduction may be in a printed form or visual image through electronic means and/or on the internet. 15. INSPECTOR OF EXHIBITS The Association shall ask the Dairy Goat Society to appoint an Inspector or Inspectors to examine Exhibits in all Dairy Goat Classes for Exhibition. Inspectors are required to submit a written report to the Council Stewards giving details of any animals which bear Tattoos or Electronic ID which are not consistent with the details printed in the Show Catalogue or which they consider to be below Royal Show standard. Any animal which is then rejected by the Council Steward shall not be exhibited and arrangements may be made for it to be removed from the Brisbane Showgrounds or segregated. 16. DAIRY GOAT PAVILION COMPETITION The purpose of this Competition is to encourage tidiness and cleanliness in the Dairy Goat Pavilion and to give recognition to an Exhibitor who presents his/her stock attractively to the public. Exhibitors will be judged on a total of 100 points. Subject to the foregoing, the judge will take into account the grooming and cleanliness of goats, bedding, tidiness of stalls, laneways and equipment. Association s banner and a Certificate of Merit will be awarded to the winning Exhibitor. Judging will commence on the first Monday of the Show and will conclude on the final Friday of the Show, with the exception of Judging Day. 17. YOUNG JUDGES' COMPETITION A Young Judges' Competition will be conducted on Friday 17 August 2018 at 9:00am. The breed is to be selected by the Judge. Entries will be accepted at the location on the day of competition. 18. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE OF EXHIBITS All Dairy Goats must be on the grounds no later than 12:00noon on Saturday 11 August 2018 and can arrive from 6.00am. Dairy Goat exhibits may also be delivered between 6pm and 8pm Saturday 11 August Those exhibitors who do not wish to participate in the on ground milking competition will be allowed to arrive later at a time to be arranged with the Competitions and Events Coordinator but must be stalled in their pens by 10am Monday 13 August All Dairy Goats must on arrival at the Brisbane Showgrounds be penned as directed by the Steward-in-Charge. No alteration will be made to the prepared penning plan without the authority of the Council Steward-in-Charge. Breach of this Regulation may result in disqualification. Exhibitors must vacate the Brisbane Showgrounds between 10:00am and 1:00pm on Saturday 18 August 2018 or 10am and 12noon Sunday 19 August Early departures must be given permission from the Honorary Council Steward. 19. EXHIBITOR PASSES A 10 day competitor pass will be allocated for 1 6 head or part thereof. Additional 10 day competitor passes will be allocated for each additional 1 6 head entered. In the event of the Judge deciding that the Exhibits in any class or Championship are not worthy of a prize, no prize shall be awarded. All animals must be clearly tattooed or EID prior to the Exhibition. At the completion of the judging of the full Udders in Classes 19 and 20, all-in-milk does must be milked out in preparation for the judging of the Breeds Champion and Supreme Champion Dairy Doe. The Senior Champion Doe shall be selected from First Prize Winners in Classes 2 years old and under 6 years. The Junior Champion Doe shall be selected from First Prize Winners in Classes over 1 year and under two years. The Junior Champion Kid shall be selected from First Prize Winners in Classes under 1 year. After selecting the Champion the Judge will be required to select an animal for Reserve, which will take the place of the Champion in the event of the latter being disqualified for any cause; the Reserve shall be selected from the remaining First Prize animals, together with the Second Prize of the Class which furnished the Champion. Champions will be awarded after the completion of general breed classes. VETERINARY SERVICES 22. The Association s Council is pleased to advise that for the forthcoming Royal Queensland Show arrangements have again been made for veterinary services to be available on a 24 hour basis commencing on Saturday 4 August 2018 through until Sunday 19 August The official veterinary surgeons are permitted to charge their normal consultation fees plus an hourly rate for extended services. In addition Exhibitors will be required to pay the cost of all drugs used. Exhibitors will be responsible for the payment of all monies owing to the veterinary surgeons. 23. Any animal which in the opinion of the Council Stewards is not in a fit state to be exhibited may be rejected by them and debarred from competing in the class or classes for which it is entered. Any animal rejected must be removed from the Showgrounds as soon as the exhibitor is notified. 24. JUNIOR HANDLERS COMPETITION This competition is for the purposes of educating and encouraging young goat breeders, attendants and assistants to parade exhibits before a Judge in the most efficient manner. Entries should be lodged with the Honorary Council Steward before 8.30am on Wednesday 15 August No entry fee. Competitors can lead goats of any age provided they are able to lead the animal. The animal need not be owned by the parader but must be exhibited in at least one of the general classes. Judging will take place in the morning of Thursday, 16 August The age of the handlers will be calculated as at the day of judging, Thursday 16 August Points will be allocated for: 1. The Occupant must keep clear an egress of at least 900mm to the exit door and must not block emergency egress doors or emergency vehicle access roads and is to give way to emergency vehicles at all times. 7. The Occupant on entering the Showground must comply with Security s direction at all times. All accidents or emergencies are to be immediately reported to security, through the Security Help Line. 8. It is the Occupant s responsibility to be aware of reversing vehicles, forklifts and pedestrians within the Showground. 9. The Occupant at all times must adhere to the RNA Terms and Conditions of Entry to RNA Showgrounds, General Regulations and the Special Regulations (collectively called the Regulations ) applicable to them and any other rules issued by the RNA from time to time. 10. The Occupant must adhere to all environmental rules and conditions attached to the Showground and obey all signs, notices and directions given by the RNA. 11. There is to be no smoking in accommodation and the Occupant is to adhere to Queensland Smoking regulations whilst in the showground. 12. The Occupant must comply with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation, and comply in every respect with the Occupational Health and Safety requirements of the RNA. 13. The Occupant must comply with the correct use of electrical equipment regulations no cooking is to occur in accommodation at any time. 14. The Occupant must not: (a) use or permit the Space to be used in a manner which creates a nuisance or disturbs or interferes with other users of the Showground; (b) use or permit the Space or any other part of the Showground to be used for any illegal, noxious, immoral, noisome or offensive purpose; (c) do or allow anything be done which contravenes or which may render void or voidable an insurance policy relating to the Space, or the Showground or which may lead to an increase in premiums payable for such insurance. 15. All equipment i.e. beds, mattresses and lockers supplied in sleeping accommodation is not to be moved whatsoever. 16. The Occupant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of their accommodation area and kitchen areas. 17. Any Occupant who has not completed this Application is not permitted to sleep on site in the space unless with the prior approval of the RNA. 18. It is required that all Occupants conduct themselves in a decent and proper manner. Intoxicated persons will not be permitted to enter the Showground. Occupants under the age of 18 years are not permitted to consume or to be served alcohol under any circumstances.
