1 Imvepi Refugee Settlement Health and Nutrition update-week 5 (25 th to 31 t January to 218) Health & Nutrition Health Partner and Agencie: UNHCR, UNFPA, UNICEF, ADLG/DHO, Medical Team International, Save the Children International (SCI), Medi San Frontier France (MSF-F), Global Refuge International (GRI), CARE Uganda International, CUAMM Doctor with Africa, Uganda Red Cro Society (URCS), The Trancultural Organization (TPO) Total OPD/ IPD Conultation Morbidity OPD Conultation: 3,789 (2,928 refugee and 861 national) new OPD conultation were made in week 5 compared to 3,184 in week 4. Of which 2,928 (77%) were to refugee and 861 (23%) to national. Mental Health and Pychoocial Support Service (MHPSS): 14 (8 refugee and 6 national) new client and reviit client received MHPSS in week 5 compared to 6 in week 4. IPD admiion: 73 (49 refugee and 24 national) new In-patient admiion were made in week 5 compared to 94 in week 4. New referral: 5 (16 refugee and 3 national) new referral were made in week 5 to Arua Regional Referral Hopital compared to 19 in week 4. While 8 new referral wa made to health facilitie within the ettlement and managed within. Vaccination, deworming & vitamin A upplementation for new arrival in Imvepi RC: Proportional Morbidity: 632 (17%) confirmed malaria cae 1,1 (27%) Acute RTI 25 (5%) Watery Diarrhoea 7 bloody diarrhoea cae. Vaccinatio n; Deworming ; Vitamin A 321 new arrival children <5 year were vaccinated in week 4 compared to 218 in week 3. (218 againt meale, 13 againt Polio, 11 mother againt T.T, 77 received Vitamin A Supplementation and 88 dewormed) Expanded programme on Immunization: 31 individual were vaccinated in week 5 compared to 465 in week received vitamin A upplementation in week 5 compared to 63 in week mother received TT in week 5 compared to 71 in week 5. Total ANC: 151 (18 refugee and 43 national) pregnant women attended ANC in week 5 compared to 198 in week 4. Firt ANC viit: 11 (74 refugee and 27 national) pregnant mother attended firt ANC in week 5 compared to 17 in week 4. Fourth ANC Viit: 21 (19 refugee and 2 national) pregnant women attended 4 th ANC eion in week 5 compared to 38 in week 4. Labour and delivery care: Elimination of mother to child HIV tranmiion (emtct): 11 (74 refugee and 27 national) national) pregnant mother who attended ANC1 were provided HIV teting ervice in week 5 and all found HIV negative compared to 17 2

Pot Natal Care: 53 (23 refugee and 3 national) lactating mother attended PNC in week 5 compared to 6 in week 4. Clinical Management of rape: reported SGBV cae. in week 4. No () HIV poitive delivery took place, therefore, we regitered 1% coverage of emtct. HIV and AIDS ervice: 5 (4 Refugee and 1 National) individual were newly teted HIV poitive in week 5 a wa in week (354 refugee and 289 national) individual were offered HIV teting ervice in week 5 compared to 791 in week 4. All the 5 (4 refugee and 1 national) newly identified HIV poitive refugee were initiated on HIV care and upport. 8,69 piece of condom were ditributed for HIV prevention in the community in week 5 compared to 6,978 in week 4. TB treatment and care: 4 (4 refugee and national) individual wa newly diagnoed with active TB and tarted on treatment in week 5 compared to 1 in week 4. OPD Conultation: 3,789 (2,928 refugee and 861 national) new OPD conultation were made in week 5 compared to 3,184 in week 4. Of which 77% of the new conultation were to refugee and 23% to national. The weekly proportional morbidity how that the leading caue of morbidity in the week i Repiratory tract infection with 27%, malaria accounted for 17% and Watery Diarrhoea/WD remained at 5%. Therefore malaria, URTI and diarrhoeal dieae accounted for 49% in week 5 compared to 63% in week 4. The incidence of malaria, acute RTI and watery diarrhoea i etimated at 5 cae/1 peron/week, 8 cae/ 1, peron and 2 cae/1 peron /week repectively. During the week preventive meaure through 85 active VHT including mobile clinic and outreache for treatment of malaria and other condition were conducted. The death wa of a child le than 5 year and among individual above 5 year. 1 death wa reported from health center and from the community. However, there wa neonatal death/< 28 day old death, and maternal death. Therefore, Crude Mortality Rate (CMR) wa.1 death/1,/day and under-5 year mortality ratio (U5MR) wa at.6 death/1,/day below the emergency threhold of 1 and 2 death/1,/day repectively. The caue/ probable caue of mortality being 1 acute watery diarrhoea. Community baed Control of Dieae Outbreak: upected meale cae were reported from Imvepi ettlement in week 4 compared to 2 in week 5. 1 upected rift valley fever/ viral haemorrhagic fever cae wa detected in Imvepi ettlement. The patient wa followed in Koboko where ample were taken and ent to Public health laboratory/uvri in Entebbe. During the week alert for VHF and other priority dieae wa maintained through CME among health worker, village health team and the community. Planned a ditrict Integrated Dieae Surveillance and Reporting ector meeting in week 6 to review Emergency preparedne and repone plan. Surveillance i maintained through 127 trained village health team (VHT ) pread out in the ettlement and weekly analyi of Health Information ytem reporting continued in the week(ee priority dieae urveillance). Medical creening of new arrival: 578 new arrival were medically creened at the Kuluba in week 5 compared to 149 in week individual in Imvepi reception clinic were medically creened in week 5 compared to 143 in week 4. TB creening at Imvepi reception: Routinely all coughing new arrival are taken putum ample for genexpert through hub laboratory in Arua regional referral hopital and Yumbe hopital. Other update and activitie of the week: Health meage for new arrival regarding morbidity, healthcare in the ettlement paed to new arrival while in tranit to the ettlement. MSF-F continued to conduct mobile clinic in zone 3 point A tank 19 and point F and reached 28 individual with medical conultation made in the community in week 5 compared to 374 in week 4. Global Refuge International (GRI) continued to conduct routine OPD ervice at point I zone 2 and upported 311 individual in week 5 compared to 498 in week 5. MTI conducted enitization on HIV and AIDS in Imvepi zone 3 in week 5. Mental Health and Pychoocial upport ervice: 4

5 TPO and other partner upported 14 new mental patient in Imvepi ettlement. The major condition being depreion and pot-traumatic tre diorder. Identified Need and Remaining Gap: During the week there wa tock of BCG and TT vaccine in ome ite leading to reduced number of children vaccinated in the week. Requet have been placed to the ditrict vaccine tore. There i limited iolation pace in the ettlement facilitie. MTI will be upported through UNHCR to contruct at leat 2 iolation unit to receive the upected cae with priority dieae. In the week there ha been reported tock out of Health information ytem (HIS) tool (OPD tally heet, HIS weekly reporting template, monthly report heet, Outbreak alert form). The UNHCR/partner to print additional HIS tool for data collection, and reporting. Imvepi Reception Center Weekly Proxy Global Acute Malnutrition among children 6-59 month, MUAC (< 125 mm and/or oedema Imvepi reception centre creened 77 new arrival and (3 MAM and SAM) 14 pregnant and lactating mother (1 < 23 cm and 13 > 23 cm) General Food Ditribution Imvepi (kilocalorie/peron/day) 3.9% Food Aitance N/A Community: overall weekly Proxy Global Acute Malnutrition among children 6-59 month, MUAC (< 125mm and/or oedema) Overall ettlement 98 (826 refugee and 82 national) creened of which (13 MAM and 2 SAM) New arrival ration (kilocal /peron/day) Narrative Achievement and Impact 77 children le than 5 year and 14 pregnant women in week 5 compared to 57 in week 4 were creened for their nutritional tatu repectively at Imvepi reception center. 3 moderately malnourihed and everely malnourihed (SAM) and 1 mother pregnant and lactating had MUAC < 23 cm. Similarly, in the entire Imvepi ettlement, 98 children under 5 nutritional tatu wa aeed in week 5 compared to 2,614 in week 4. There were (13) MAM and 2 SAM cae identified. Overall weekly proxy Global acute malnutrition among children 6-59 month creened in Imvepi ettlement in week 4 wa 1.7% compared to 1.% in week and 2 new malnourihed children were enrolled in SFP and OTP repectively. All the identified malnourihed were initiated on therapeutic feed and have been linked to Omugo extenion ettlement. In week 5, thirty five 35 refugee were exited from targeted SFP and 29 (25 refugee and 5 national) were cured and 5 (5 refugee and national) defaulter regitered. Therefore recovery rate wa 29 (83%) and 5(14.3%) defaulter rate among refugee, (%) death rate and (%) non-repone rate. 3 (3 refugee and national) individual were exited from the TFP and all 3 refugee cured and national cured. Recovery rate of 3(1%), defaulter rate of (%) and () non-repone rate. Community nutrition activitie Maternal Child Health Nutrition: MTI conducted maternal child health nutrition for pregnant and lactating mother and children 6-23 month at point F in Imvepi zone 3. Through that 115 (1 refugee and 15 national) children 6-23 month were reached. Infant and Young Child in Emergency activitie: 1.7% N/A 5

6 MTI conducted IYCF-E enitization at all the 3 zone of Imvepi ettlement (point G, H, J and I) in week 5 and reached approximately 1,5 individual. IYCF through mother baby area: During the week SCI continued to run 2 MBA in Imvepi ettlement erving pregnant and lactating mother with optimal breat feeding promotion meage. Cumulatively in week 5, 119 (1168 refugee and 22 national) were being erved in MBA in the ettlement. SCI reached 555 individual in week 5 with IYCF-E meage. Ditribution of hygiene (IMAM) kit: Action Againt Hunger (ACF) continued to ditribute hygiene kit for IMAM beneficiarie compriing of Container for water collection and torage, chlorine tablet and bathing oap. Identified Need and Remaining Gap There i tranport challenge for coordinating community intervention in the ettlement. In the meantime, there i integration of nutrition, expanded immunization activitie (EPI) and outreache in the community. 6
