1 Socio Culture (VKSB) Info Sheet Upon your arrival in Indonesia, your socio culture visa (VKSB) is valid for 60 days starting from your date of arrival (Stamp on your passport) VKSB is single entry visa. So if you leave Indonesia, your visa is automatically cancelled. You have 2 options if your visa expiries: 1. Apply for a new VKSB (anywhere outside Indonesia that has Indonesian Embassy) 2. Extend the visa on your own 2. Extend the visa using the visa agent s service In summary, the differences between extending on your own and using visa agent service can be seen below Extension On Your Own Extending visa on your own means you are responsible to complete all the required documents and make 3 times visit to West Jakarta Immigration office on your own. Important points 1. Preparing the required documents 2. Going to the immigration Office a. To submit the application (1 st visit) b. To make the payment (2 nd visit) c. To get the documents back (3 rd visit) 1. Preparing the required documents Extending visa on our own means you are responsible in preparing all the required documents on your own. These are the list of documents that you need to submit to West Jakarta Immigration Office (located in Old Town City- Kota Tua) for your visa application. 1. Sponsor Letter from International Office* 2. Recommendation Letter from International Office* 3. Study Permit* 4. Original Passport

3 5. Copy of Passport - front page with your information in A4 paper 6. Copy of visa stamp on your passport in A4 paper 7. Perdim 23** *To obtain this document, please an to Ms. Ira (Iernawati@binus.edu) cc: Sofiany@binus.edu. Make sure to send the request min 3 days before you need the letter/plan to go to immigration office. **This document is available at Jakarta Immigration office. Request one form the counter and fill it out before submitting with all documents. 2. Submitting the application (1 st visit) This will be your first visit to West Jakarta Immigration Office. Make sure you have prepared all the required documents mentioned in the previous section (except the Perdim 23). These are the steps that you are about to go through during your first visit. 1. Getting the Perdim 23 and a pink map from the officer. Upon your arrival, please go to the second floor of building. Go to the counter on the right side and tell the officer that you are willing to extend your visa (VKSB) and need Perdim 23 and a pink map for all the documents that you have prepared. All documents obtained from Immigration office are free of charge. 2. Filling out the Perdim 23 Make sure to fill out the Perdim 23 with a black ink pen. The sample on how to fill out the Perdim 23 can be found at the end of this document. 3. Submitting the documents After filling out the Perdim 23, put all documents in the pink map. Write your name on the pink map and submit it to the counter located in the middle. 4. Getting the receipt When you are about to submit your application, the officer will check all of the documents and if all documents are complete then he/she will give you a receipt and ask to return after 3 working days to make the payment.

4 3. Making the payment (2 nd visit) After three working days, you are asked to return to Jakarta Immigration office to make the payment. These are the steps that you are about to go through during your second visit. 1. Getting your documents Go to the counter where you get the Perdim 23 and pink map and tell the officer that you are about to make the payment. The officer looks for your application and gives it back to you so you can make the payment. 2. Making payment Take your documents and bring it to the first floor to make the payment. Go to the counter at the left side of the building. The officer in the payment counter will look through your application and give some receipts after you make the payment. The pink receipt will be attached to your application as a proof that you have made the payment. You can keep the white receipt for your own perusal. The price of each is IDR , - (additional IDR for photo fee only on the first ). The information about official fee can also be found in the immigration office. 3. Returning your documents After making the payment, return your documents to the previous counter where you get your application from (2 nd floor). The officer will tell you return in about 3 days to get your passport back. 4. Getting the documents back (3 rd visit) This will be your last visit to the Jakarta Immigration office. Please go directly to the counter where you submit your application and show the receipt of payment to the officer. They will give your passport with a stamp identifying your visa has been extended for another 30 days. For your first, you will be required to have your finger print and photo taken at the immigration office as part of the registration process. This requires additional IDR ,-. Extension Using the Agent service Extending visa by using the visa agent service means the visa agent will do all the process under name. Important points: 1. Submitting your passport 2. Submitting your passport If you are willing to extend your visa by using the visa agent s service then you can submit your passport directly to the visa agent or to International Office (Room 331, Anggrek Campus). The visa agent will help completing the rest of the documents as part of the services. 2. Have Finger print and Photo taken at the Immigration Office For your first, you are required to have your photo and finger print taken at the Jakarta immigration office. This only needs to be done during the first. The visa agent will make an appointment under your name and ask your availability by sending you an . Confirm your availability by replying to their and go to the Immigration office at the designated time and date. 3. Making Payment The payment can be made after the visa agent issues the invoice. After all the process has been done and your passport is ready to be pick up, the visa agent will the invoice to your .

7 Frequently Asked Question 1. I want to go to Bali but my passport is at the immigration office, is it still possible for me to go? Yes. International office or visa agent can provide a letter stating that your passport is at the immigration office. You can use this letter as a replacement of your passport while you are travelling within Indonesia. 2. Can I try to extend my visa on my own for the 1 st and use the visa agent s service for the 2 nd? Sure. No problem. 3. What if I go to Singapore? Can I extend my visa in Singapore? Your VKSB will be cancelled once you leave Indonesia. This means there is no way you can extend your visa outside Indonesia. However, you can apply for a new VKSB with a brand new 60 days. 4. How can I apply for a new VKSB? You can use the same documents that you use to apply for VKSB for the first time. 5. Can I apply for a new VKSB in Indonesia? No, you have to apply anywhere outside Indonesia where there is an Indonesian Embassy. 6. If I use the visa agent s service, how long does it take before I can get my passport back? It takes around 7-10 days. 7. Can I do all the at once? No. to be able to do the 2 nd, you have to finish the 1 st and so on. 8. If I extend my visa earlier will it affect the 30 days that I will be getting? No. The extra 30 days will be counted starting from the date of your VKSB expired. 9. I lost my passport, what should I do? Report to BINUS International Office and your home country embassy in Indonesia as soon as possible. 10. Where is the west Jakarta immigration office?
