3 Form A Article 7.1 National implementation measures "Each State Party shall report to the Secretary-General... on: a) The national implementation measures referred to in Article 9." Remark: In accordance with Article 9, "Each State Party shall take all appropriate legal, administrative and other measures, including the imposition of penal sanctions, to prevent and suppress any activity prohibited to a State Party under this Convention undertaken by persons or on territory under its jurisdiction or control". Measures 1. Turkey stopped use of and commenced clearing APMs in Supplementary information (e.g., effective date of implementation & text of legislation attached). 2. Turkish Armed Forces Munitions Disposal Facility was put into service on 8 November The construction of the facility has been conducted in accordance with the agreement between Turkey and the NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency (NAMSA) signed in 2005.

Status of programs for destruction of APMs in mined areas (Article 5) Description of the status of programs including: Location of destruction sites - The Specialized Mine Clearance Unit of the Turkish General Staff is continuing mine clearance activities, using the method of open-air destruction on site. The 510 km long minefield on the border with Syria will be cleared under the management of the Ministry of Finance (Directorate General for National Real Estate Affairs), in compliance with the related Governmental Decree. Details of: Methods - A draft law is prepared and submitted to the Parliament on mine clearance and tender facilities to take place along the land border between Turkey and Syria. The first hearing was held at the relevant Commission of the Parliament on 10 April Applicable safety standards Applicable environmental standards

11 Form J Other relevant matters Remark: States Parties may use this form to report voluntarily on other relevant matters, including matters pertaining to compliance and implementation not covered by the formal reporting requirements contained in Article 7. States Parties are encouraged to use this form to report on activities undertaken with respect to Article 6, and in particular to report on assistance provided for the care and rehabilitation, and social and economic reintegration, of mine victims. - In 2000, a special prosthetic care program for amputees was implemented with the contribution of Physicians for Peace (PfP), a non-governmental organization, based in Norfolk, Virginia. PfP initiated a Prosthetic Center at Dicle University, Diyarbakır, in which volunteer physicians and prosthetists fit, train and rehabilitate amputees including landmine victims with prosthetics, free of charge. The Prosthetic Center has been operating as a self-sustainable care center to fit prosthetics and train amputees since The number of the civilian landmine victims (amputees) fitted at the Center throughout the past years is as followed: Civilians including mine victims also receive treatment at military hospitals as well as several state and university hospitals. The procedures outlining how civilians can apply for treatment for rehabilitation are
