7 Our History DIANA was founded in 1951 by Max Olano and Pablo Tesak. The company started off clandestinely in a small car garage of a house the founders were renting in Colonia Mugdan in San Salvador, El Salvador. DIANA began distributing their products by bicycles. The company flourished and bought its first two vehicles in 1957 to distribute product in all of the country of El Salvador. Due to an expanding market and steady demand for DIANA s products, the company transferred its factory to Barrio La Vega in Since the 1990s, DIANA has been making significant investments within its organization and factory to ensure customer satisfaction. DIANA began producing artisanal snacks and candy. Within a 5 year period, sales had grown so much that the company moved to larger facilities in Barrio San Esteban in San Salvador. In 1958, DIANA began exporting its products to Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. By 1978, the company expanded its exportation to the United States. In order to keep up with product demand and its continuous growth, in 1970 DIANA relocated to a larger factory and installations in Soyapango. DIANA has positioned itself as a leader in the snack and candy sector within El Salvador and the rest of Central America. 8
