3 Personal Identity Number Personnummer students staying more than one year Students who study in Sweden for more than one year must have a personal identity number (personnummer). The Swedish Tax Agency, Skatteverket, is the authority that will issue the personal identity numbers. Please bring your: passport with your residence permit acceptance letter

5 Residence Permit renewal students staying more than one year Renewal of Residence permit takes at least 8 weeks. You must apply for an extension of your residence permit approximately one month before your current permit expires by post or online. When you apply for an extension by post, you must use the form Application for residence permit for students and doctoral students, no Required documents: - Copy of passport - Sufficient study results - Bank documents, showing your funding for the past year and for the remaining year - prove that you are enrolled for continued full-time study. You are entitled to stay in Sweden while the renewal is being processed. If you leave, you will not be allowed to return to Sweden until you get your residence permit.

7 Right of Residence - EU/EEA citizens For students staying less than a year EU/EEA citizens application for Registration of right of residence Info at - Make an online application or send the application by post to the Swedish Migration Board by completing the form Registration of right of residence, no within three months. 10 Banking Stay at least for six months. Stockholm University suggest that you contact a SEB bank office. The closest is located at Odengatan 28. Bring the following documents - Letter of Acceptance - Passport/national ID - Tenancy agreement (copy of your housing contract) - Residence permit Remember to close your account when leaving!

16 To IKEA at Kungens kurva the best way is to take the free bus from Vasagatan 18, Monday to Friday every hour between 10am and 7pm T-bana (subway) Red Line towards Norsborg. Get off at Skärholmen Then take the bus: 710 (towars Sörskogen), 707(towards Fruängen), 173(towards Skarpnäck), 740 (towards Kungens Kurva) or 737 (towards Tumba). How to get to IKEA (north) etc. T-bana (subway) Pendeltåg (commutertrain) towards Bålsta from T-Centralen. Get off at Barkarby and then take bus 567 to IKEA.
