2 Corwin Abstract i Abstract Whether or not residents of The West Bend News would desire to participate in our blog and discussion is his or her own decision. We are excited about the creation of the blog with the intention for individuals beyond the company to be involved. Making the blog available will allow reader to post their comments, ask questions, make suggestions, and get in touch with each other. The posting ingredient of the blog is simpler then other task in the development part of the blog. Besides the journaling, the blogger software comes complete with photographs and links. There are links on the blog to The West Bend News and other surrounding area websites where you can easily access other local information.

4 Corwin Introduction 1 Introduction The West Bend News Utilizing a Weblog The West Bend News is a newly revamped newspaper that is going out on a limb to join the blogsphere (Web logging sphere). Making the blog available will allow reader to post their comments, ask questions, make suggestions, and get in touch with each other. There are links on the blog to The West Bend News and other surrounding area websites where you can easily access other variable information. The development of this blog was not only because we were attracted to the idea but to be innovative. The point for the blog is to offer a new, rapidly growing space of relationship, learning and collaboration for the those Paulding County residents. A factor we are seeking is to apply a connection between the newspaper and the blog. We are doing this by printing the URL in the weekly newspaper and vice versa. Thus, we are working on this plan for the blog then thinking in terms of it being a form of a marketing tool.

5 Corwin Materials and Methods 2 Materials and Methods Before starting the project the partners of The West Bend News approved the experiment of designing a blog. The materials needed for it was the use of free web hosting space at Blogger.com, but any web hosting is applicable. Using a template and personalizing the html code for the blog in Blogger.com handled the subject and matters. The subject matters was prepared by setting up an account, naming our blog, changing the header, unifying the color schemes, and other like methods. Also, we are continuously cleaning up and improving the blog. Again, a preamble of processes needs to be set up before the blog is to be put out there. The software is Blogger. It is creative combination of database and Web site that lets you focus on writing. It is online journal which tracks archives and dates. It is complete with photographs and links. The method we use to update data is to publish a few columns from the weekly newspaper onto blogger. Cautions Dangers or potential problems that might result from the experimental procedure are people mistreating the blog. You should avoid arguments. Here and in other areas of public discussion, make sure that what you are saying is factually correct. Do not use offensive language.

6 Corwin Results 3 Results Selecting data for the blog is more simple then other tasks in developmental part of the blog. Mutual columns are selected from the weekly newspaper in turn on publishing onto the company blog. The writings for the blog are chosen from the columns that are already blueprinted from the weekly newspapers. If we published a blog with information that isn t factual then we will follow up right away with corrections and a statement about doing so. In order to design or edit our blog, we must first start at blogger.com or the web hosting site of choice. To launch our posting, elementally like we write a column or journal then add it as a new post. Using the picture feature just insert a picture to the post. Readers will post their own comments, ask questions, make suggestions, and get in touch with other locals. Feed back turn around time is quicker this way because using a blog. Naturally, you must set up an account that includes creating a password and naming your blog. Following this, simply choose or change the template of the background of the blog. The method that is more difficult than the others is personalizing our blog. It can be intimidating when using html code to integrate the blog. Yet, there are helpful web sites for color scheming and coding. To illustrate other ways to personalize our blog are: 1. Add links to The West Bend News and other surrounding are websites on the sidebar 2. Remove the about me 3. Rename archives 4. Change the header 5. Add a footer 6. Archive by week In addition, the blog would be a form of advertising. In fact, there would be space on the blog for the use of free advertising for a company. The above illustrations are a few explanations on how we pursue scopes of services.

Establishments We are currently forming relationships with educational institutions but at this point no relationship have been formalized.

8 Corwin Conclusion 5 Conclusion Since there is constant change on the internet and website development, The West Bend News Weblog has an advantage over their competition. The development of this blog was not only because we were attracted to the idea, but to be innovative. This experiment with the weblog is key in allowing a reader to post their comments, ask questions, make suggestions, and get in touch with other Paulding County citizens. Feed back turn around time is quicker this way. The West Bend News can address any questions or concerns.
