Also covered will be a review of five studies on unconscious bias in the workplace, how to recognize your unconscious bias, and mitigating unconscious bias in the workplace. cle credit applied For: 2.0 including 2.0 ethics SPeaker: German A. Gomez, assistant general counsel at Hogan Lovells, US LLC in Washington D.C. Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Gomez was employed by the U.S. Department of Justice, where he was a member of the Diversity Committee. 7 10:30-11:20 a.m. Plenary SeSSion n Catching Up and Running Ahead: A Review of the U.S. Supreme Court s 2016 Term and an Advanced Look at 2017 objective: This session will present a scholarly (and colorful) review of this past Supreme Court term, with a focus on constitutional cases, and will address the potential impact of upcoming decisions from the Court in the areas of religious freedom and separation of powers. Other trends of importance to state and federal practitioners also will be discussed. cle credit applied For: 1.0 SPeaker: Professor Louis J. Virelli III is a professor at Stetson University College of Law, teaching courses in Administrative Law, Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law I, Federal Courts, and Federal Pretrial Practice. Professor Virelli has received the Dickerson-Brown Award for Excellence in Faculty Scholarship and the Branton Excellence in Teaching Award.
