According to Nobel Laureate Robert Shiller, the author of Irrational Exuberance, even completely rational people can participate in herding behavior when they follow the judgments of others, which in aggregate are assumed to be right. Although individually rational, such an information cascade produces group behavior that is completely irrational. Shiller illustrates how an information cascade could get started by describing the subsequent herding behavior. Suppose two restaurants are next door to each other, and each potential customer must choose between the two. Quality judgments made by looking in through the window are like judging a book by its cover. While both restaurants are empty when the first customer arrives, the second potential customer sees one person eating in one restaurant, and the other empty, makes the identical judgment by default. The third potential customer sees two people eating one restaurant and the other is empty, concludes that the one with two diners must be superior, & naturally goes in the same restaurant. In this way, all customers could end up eating at the same restaurant, which could very well be the poorer of the two. This is the same cascade effect that occurs as the result of the Stockcharts rankings most readers begin at the top, assuming the best analysts are found there and never get very far down the list, certainly not to #19-20, where I have been artificially stuck for over three years. The irony of this is that I am ranked #1 for performance by Timer Digest for 3, 6, & 12 months for the identical signals for the S&P 500, which I chart in the Free Public Stockcharts. 3 Included in my 91 Stockchart followers, there are at least 3 are my clients, who subscribed to Stockcharts for the explicit purpose of to learning New-Wave Elliott, by copying my charts. They vote daily, as I do, accounting for 120 of my official 220-odd monthly votes. I thought it strange that votes did not increase noticeably after these additional 90 votes, not including my own. From my Stockcharts ranking, one would deduce that the remaining followers vote just once a month, not likely! Several weeks ago my client in Mainland China, Wang Wei, called to my attention how 20 votes had abruptly disappeared from one day to the next, and sent me the screen shots. I checked my own screenshot from 30 days prior and there was no such drop. 5 After careful analysis, I am like Sisyphus rolling the bolder up the mountain, only to have it roll back down to the bottom each time. I am losing 6-7 votes per day due to hacking, in addition to the 20 above in one fell swoop! Previously I took a single screenshot, in the morning, after I updated my charts. But since I have been taking screenshots throughout the day and into the night, I noticed that from my votes drop to 215 the following day on two subsequent days. And at 244 the vote counter stopped counting at 3PMon Apr 14. Since these are NEW votes, they should not dropoff like this. What s more, since this happened I have gained 3 followers and still carry the pre-stolen vote ranking of #19! My signals and charts have been right on, they are the product of 25 years of careful study in which I have advanced and refined the Wave Principle as New-Wave Elliott. 7 Before the hacker noticed I was counting votes several times a day, did I begin to keep my votes from one day to the next -1 or 2. While votes might possibly aggregate at a rate of 4 per day, counting if only my students and my own vote, but not drop abruptly like this. Please take a good look at my charts, as Wan Wei states, they are more accurate and earlier than others as evidenced by piggy-backing. Ended with 246 Apr 14 only to lose them this morning 242 last night now back to 246 same as If you can reply on the forum that something is gone because hackers, you should know it s not plural hackers but a single hacker who has been on my back attempting to destroy my life for 8 years, this is not something your programmers will ever be able to pin down and eradicate, to get rid of the problem once and for all you need to step up and call the FBI REACT Task Force, and they can track the hacking like no one else. I could not post this on the LinkedIn stockcharts page, it was erased instead, as were all my other 5 posts.
