MORRISON LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS Susan brings over twenty-five years of experience in school law, employment law, construction law, and litigation to The Fowler Law Firm. She serves as the Chief of the Employment Law Section. Ms. Morrison ran a statewide private practice representing public entities and employers from 19852009. She is an experienced harassment prevention trainer and investigator as well as an expert in religious rights, free speech, and constitutional law matters. Ms. Morrison is a former Assistant General Counsel for the Texas Education Agency and a former administrative law judge. She trained other administrative law judges for twenty state agencies through the University of Texas Hearing Officer Certification Program. She currently represents employers, school districts, and other governmental entities on all kinds of employment disputes, open meetings and public information, grievances, student discipline, special education, and other matters before the TEA, TWC, EEOC and the courts. Philanthropy & Community Service Susan devoted several years to Adopt-A-School activities before expanding her attention to Communities in Schools, the leading drop-out prevention program in Central Texas serving over 60 campuses in six school districts. As a CIS Past Board President and member of the Leadership Circle, Susan helps fundraise and advocate for homeless and struggling students to receive services in order to Stay in School and graduate. Susan is also a fan of the League of Women Voters and served on the Austin Area Board as editor of the Voters Guide and membership co-chair, increasing members by 6% in two years. From 1979 to 1983, Susan worked with the League to get the constitutional amendment passed allowing for garnishment of wages for child support legislation that had been attempted every session since 1958 finally passed and became law in 1983. She now focuses on public education and voter registration issues, and fundraises for voter education and registration on the League of Women Voters-Texas State Board. The Rotary Club of Austin meets most Tuesdays, from 11:30-1:00, in Sumners Hall at St. David s Episcopal Church (301 E. 8th Street)

ROTARY REMINDER (6/7/16) PAGE 2 RECAP FROM LAST WEEK S PROGRAM Rotary Club Assembly May 31, 2016 by Past President John Braun The meeting was called to order by President Harold Ingersoll. Harold Benkoski led the pledges, Laraine Lasdon gave the Invocation and Kirk Loerwald led the reciting of the Four Way Test. Lillian Aaron was our Greeter, and Steve Stearns introduced our guests and visitors. President Harold introduced our newest member, Chelsea True. Chelsea is sponsored by Brad Wiewel, and since Brad couldn t join us Membership Chair Elvin Pool stood in for him. Welcome, Chelsea! Don Busby exchanged his Red Badge for a brand new Blue one...congratulations, Don! Then we heard from Bill Baker during the Member Spotlight; and Mary Reynolds presented Past President Sherry Workman with the Rotary International Interact Club Presidential Citation Award that the Fulmore Middle School Interact Club received in their very first year! Way to go students and congratulations to Sherry, Darrick Eugene, Byron Wilkenfeld and Debbie Simmons for their leadership! President Harold made several announcements then Executive Director, Jennifer Olsen, drew Jim Furman s name as the Paul Harris Fellow winner during the Thank Goodness Basket Drawing. We also heard from Jim, Sherry and Past President Gaines Bagby during the Thank Goodness Basket led by Michael Portman. This concluded the business portion of the meeting so we broke for Fellowship and to visit the stations of the various Committees represented to learn about them and sign up to volunteer for the upcoming year.
