INTRODUCTION, FIRST READING AND REFERENCE By the Committee on Judiciary: Assembly Bill No. 248 AN ACT relating to gaming; revising the provisions relating to the approval of nonrestricted gaming licenses in certain counties to authorize local governments in such counties to adopt certain standards that establishments must meet to be granted nonrestricted gaming licenses; and providing other matters properly relating thereto. Assemblyman Oceguera moved that the bill be referred to the Committee on Judiciary. By the Committee on Commerce and Labor: Assembly Bill No. 249 AN ACT relating to dispensing opticians; requiring the Board of Dispensing Opticians to adopt minimum standards for eyewear and certain devices dispensed by a dispensing optician; authorizing any member of the Board to issue subpoenas to compel the production of books, papers and documents; revising provisions governing the reinstatement of an expired license or limited license; requiring the Board to establish the required amount of continuing education in ophthalmic dispensing; authorizing the Board to impose an administrative fine against a person who engages in ophthalmic dispensing without a license; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
