GENERAL FILE AND THIRD READING Assembly Bill No. 82. Bill read third time. Remarks by Assemblyman Gardner. ASSEMBLYMAN GARDNER: Assembly Bill 82 revises the names of existing financial accounts used by the Department of Wildlife. The Wildlife Fund Account in the State General Fund is renamed the Wildlife Account, and the Wildlife Heritage Trust Account is renamed the Wildlife Heritage Account. The bill reinstates statutes that were repealed in 2011 addressing the deposit and expenditure of money received from the sale of trout stamps. The bill also makes language on permissible uses of wildlife accounts consistent with Title 45 of Nevada Revised Statutes. It is also effective July 1, Roll call on Assembly Bill No. 82: YEAS 42. Remarks by Assemblywoman Bustamante Adams. ASSEMBLYWOMAN BUSTAMANTE ADAMS: Assembly Bill 154 was requested by the Sunset Subcommittee and approved by the Legislative Commission. It relates to the Nevada Employment Security Council which was created by the Legislature in the early 1940s. Its purpose now is to advise the Employment Security Division on contribution and benefit rates to insure the solvency of the Unemployment Compensation Fund. The duties listed in Section 1 of A.B. 154 reflect different economic times when the country and the state of Nevada were struggling with the Great Depression. In the interim committee this last year, we unanimously recommended continuation of the Council, and the Subcommittee also recommended revisions to NRS to align the functions of the Council with what it actually does.
