4 2016 FAAEP Highlights The City of El Paso passed a proclamation that October 2016 was Filipino Recognition Month Ratification of the 2017 Constitution & ByLaws Development of a new Official FAAEP Website: FAAEP.org Created new Official Facebook group page and Facebook Public Page Awarded $1500 within two FAAEP student scholarships to London Alarilla & Anthony Briones. Coordinated four social events to include: 2015 Installation of Officers, 2016 Valentines Day Brunch, Easter Picnic & Fourth of July Picnic Contributed to two charitable organizations: Child Crisis Center and Rescue Mission of El Paso. Treasurers Report Balance at the end of January 2017 is $37, Whats to Come? 75th Bataan Death March Anniversary and FilVetRep Congressional Gold Medal Commemoration Saturday, March 18, 2017 Double Tree Hotel 6:30 pm FAAEP is bigger than anyone of us combined, it is bigger than the collective and aggregate efforts and actions of all of us put together. It is my objective to direct this association to move to a new direction. 5 Executive Board The Executive Board shall consist of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Officers of the Association. The Executive Board shall be presided by the President The Executive Board shall attend to the affairs of the Association during the interim period between membership meetings It is my hope to preserve the values and goals as set by our founding members, to have pride and respect as a Filipino American Community, to promote our traditions and beliefs and be aware of our heritage and culture as we live side by side with our American brothers and sisters Rosario Mabini Klude, Board of Trustee My goals for 2017 are to help bridge the traditions, values and wisdom of our founding membership with the tenacity, drive and ierce devotion of our current membership, into one powerful force of unity David Alarilla, Chairman of the Board

6 Éy Board Trustees The Board of Trustees is the rule making body of the Association in between sessions of the general membership meetings. It shall set the short and long term goals of the Association to include strategic plans and budget. The Board of Trustees shall serve as the guardians of finances. 9 Executive Officers PRESIDENT, Rodney Arruiza Shall preside at all meetings except Board of Trustees meetings and shall enforce the constitution and by laws of the Association. He/she shall be an exofficio member of the Board of Trustees and all committees. The President shall appoint committee chairpersons and/or special committee members as necessary. Follow up on projects that were initiated during previous administrations. Call for special meeting when an urgent matter requires. Make commitments in the name of the Association on external activities as approved by the Board of Trustees 1st VICE PRESIDENT, Emy Briones Shall perform the duties of the President in his absence. He/She shall perform such other duties as the President may request. In case of a vacancy in the office of the President, the 1 st Vice President shall assume the office of the President for the unexpired term. 2nd VICE PRESIDENT, Norma Magdael Shall perform duties of the President and/or Vice President their absence. Assists the President and 1 st Vice President as needed. Performs duties as the president may request. My goal as a Board of Trustee is to oversee and shape the FAAEP board policies and the important functions for which it is responsible. Lougene Ofeciar, Board of Trustee My goal and hope for the FAAEP is for all to unite and contribute time, loyalty, respect and integrity to the Association. 10 Executive Officers SECRETARY, Debbie Alarilla Shall keep the minutes of all meetings and prepare same for permanent record. Shall at each meeting, at the request of the President, read the minutes of the previous meeting. Shall make such corrections as may be required. Shall conduct and maintain the correspondence of the Association. Shall keep a record of the names, addresses and telephone numbers of all the members. ASSISTANT SECRETARY, London Alarilla Shall perform duties of the secretary in their absence. Assists the secretary as needed. Performs duties as the president may request. Assumes the position of the secretary if vacated. TREASURER, Edilito Namit Administers and manages the financial assets and liabilities of the Association. Shall collect all dues, fees or other revenues. Shall keep record of all receipts and disbursements. Shall deposit all revenues in a designated local bank. Shall disburse monies only upon proper authorization and with proper documentation per established guidelines. Shall render to the membership for approval each month a treasurers report of financial activities for that period. Shall prepare and present in proper form the year s receipts, disbursements, and preparation of taxes at the end of each fiscal year. Any disbursement over $500 requires two (2) signatures including the president. ASST TREASURER, Mary Jane Mabini Raab Hall Shall perform duties of the treasurer in his absence. Assists the treasurer as needed. Performs duties as the president may request. Assumes the position of the treasurer if vacated My goal is to continue to unite the Filipino American community through genuine gestures of comradery. United we are strong and together we are FAAEP! 11 Executive Officers AUDITOR, JESSICA BUTRON Shall provide an independent examination of the accuracy of finances and taxes. Shall prepare and present an annual audit report to the Board of Trustees. Shall perform an annual inventory of assets of the Association. SERGEANT AT ARMS, Fuji Alarilla Shall assist in maintaining order and security in all meetings. Shall prepare the venue for the meeting. Shall also perform other duties as requested by the President. In the absence of a Sergeant at Arms, the President may designate a temporary Sergeant at Arms for that meeting SERGEANT AT ARMS, JASON NAMIT Shall assist in maintaining order and security in all meetings. 12 Committees Communication Committee (aka Telephone Committee) It shall be the duty of this committee to co operate with the President and the Secretary in giving notices of meetings or other functions of the Association and in communicating with members of the Association. Grants It shall be the duty of this committee to seek external funding through grants to further the interests and goals of the Association. Hospitality Committee It shall be the duty of this committee to reach out on behalf of the Association and offer comfort to families of members and Filipinos in our community in times of emergencies or bereavement. It shall also act as a welcoming committee to all prospective members arriving for the first time in El Paso and vicinity. Historian It shall be the duty of this committee keep a record of the Association s accomplishments and activities through pictures and journals. Membership Committee It shall be the duty of this committee to recruit and renew memberships. Shall maintain and manager the membership list in cooperation with the Secretary Nomination & Elections Committee It shall be the duty of this committee to accept candidates and present a slate of officers to the Board of Trustees for presentation to the general membership and schedule an election. Public Relations Committee It shall be the duty of this committee to prepare press notices pertinent to activities of the Association. Scholarship Committee It shall be the duty of this committee to prepare guidelines for prospective recipients and present recommendations to the Board of Trustees for presentation to the general membership. Social Events Committee It shall be the duty of this committee to arrange all social functions of the Association. Social Media and Internet Technology Committee It shall be the duty of this committee to maintain social media presence, , website, digital storage and digital securities for the Association. Ways and Means Committee It shall be the duty of this committee to develop methods and means to raise revenue for the Association.
