2 Page 2 We are now entering into the busiest two months of the year. We have evaluations at the next general meeting and voting on proposed changes to the constitution and bylaws, digital photo contest with the Wellington club in New Zeeland in March. Than in April we have Kaleidoscope, our biggest fundraiser, Seminar with David Muench and The AV Festival. I expect that the committees will be looking for volunteers to help organize, and help on the days of the events. If you have not volunteered up to now or need to make up some volunteer hours, please consider donating some time for these events. Remember, we still have the Juried exhibition from April 23 to May 23. I expect that a call for submissions will be made soon. Consider entering some of you works into this. It is open to all members. Happy Clicking Richard Upcoming Seminar April 21 st 2005 By Peter Young Volunteers Needed We require volunteers for the setup on Friday the 22, and for the day of the Seminar as well as to distribute brochures to photo stores, libraries etc. I have had some response from our members however we need further help. I will be coordinating this effort and I can be contacted at , during our regular meeting and at odey70@hotmail.com. We intend to distribute our brochures in the Mississauga, Acton, Georgetown, Guelph, Kitchener /Waterloo, Fergus, Oakville, Grimsby, St. Catherine and Niagara Falls and other areas in the greater Toronto. The hours you expend are directly tallied against your Latow volunteer commitment. We are hoping members will take a number of brochures to distribute during their normal errands in their community thereby eliminating cost for fuel and time. Please contact me if you can help. The brochures will be available at our upcoming General meeting on March 1 st and in the finishing room after the 1 st. From the Editor s Desk I am getting great pictures now. Keep them coming in. Thank you. I placed two on this month s cover both by Debbie Blades. These are of course, a reminder of the weather we are experiencing this time of year. It s nice to see that some of us actually take our cameras out in the winter. Unfortunately, I am rarely one of you. There are great shots out there right now and it would certainly be worth it to capture the beauty of the season photographically. Have a look at the great line up of events next month, there are actually five Tuesday evenings instead of four! We have now competed three evaluations. The next will be the annual so, stay tuned for the dates the entries are due. Keep in mind that the Newsletter is your Newsletter. This month there are two members with items for sale. If you have anything you wish to sell, please send it to me. Ponder this: In Western philosophy we are told: Seek it and ye shall find it. In Eastern Philosophy it goes like this: When you seek it, you cannot find it Can anyone tell me why the difference. It s a test to see how many read the entire Newsletter. PLEASE NOTE SENDING ITEMS TO THE NEWS- LETTER Some of you are sending me different fonts and sizes. Please use only Times New Roman at 10 points. I will bold and underline where necessary. Please make sure you align your text before you send it or it takes extra time for me to do this.
