The meeting was called to order at 3:30 p.m. by Executive Vice President Elizabeth Shimamoto. 2. A Reminder from Zack Bowman, Your Student Activities Representative: Mark your calendar for the upcoming clubs and organizations meeting on Wednesday, April 11, at 4:00 p.m. in Hargreaves Hall 201, the Powers Reading Room. This will be the fifth meeting for the school year. This meeting will focus on 101 Dining Etiquette Tips. If you have questions, contact Zack at asewustuact@ewu.edu. Have a great spring quarter! [1 min] d. The campus community is invited to attend the upcoming Women s and Gender Commission Public Forum. This forum provides students, staff, faculty and administrators an opportunity to express their input regarding the campus climate for women and minorities at EWU. It will be held next Thursday, April 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the JFK Event Space. [1 min] e. Happening next week is Eastern s annual Spring Parent and Family Weekend on April 14 and 15! The weekend includes EWU s annual EWU Club Vegas Night. The culmination of the evening features celebrated magician Derek Hughes! Mr. Hughes regularly performs at the Magic Castle in Hollywood and has performed at the Harrah s in Las Vegas. He was a finalist on season ten of NBC s America s Got Talent. In addition, he has had several acting stints including the situation comedy Grown Ups, Adam Sandler s feature film Mr. Deeds and CBS hit drama CSI: NY. [1 min] f. What s New with the PUB? Have you been wondering when the building will be ready? Or maybe you re just curious as to what it looks like inside! Get the news and updates on Wednesday, April 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. outside of the PUB; just look for two tents. The project manager Troy Bester and the PUB director Danny Clapp will be available to answer your questions and they will have building renderings and floor plans for you to review! Light refreshments will be served. [1 min] g. With a vacancy in the ASEWU Superior Court, the associate justice position will officially open next Monday, April 9 on Handshake. The position will remain open until April 20. As outlined in bylaw /123, ASEWU Council members will be needed to serve on the interview process. [1 min] h. Because of the departure of the ASEWU EWU Spokane campus liaison and the media and graphic designer at the end of winter quarter, the ASEWU will be hiring an executive assistant to cover for these positions for spring quarter 2018 only. The hiring process timeline will be the same as for the open associate justice position. The executive assistant position will officially open on Handshake on Monday, April 9. [1 min] i. The EWU Pride Center is doing a clothing swap in May. To prepare for this event they need clothes! Drop off your gently used clothing in a bin located at the Pride Center in Showalter Hall 105!
