1 Intercollegiate Studies Institute 2010 Rate Card ISI Mission Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, tax-exempt educational organization whose purpose is to convey to successive generations of college youth a better understanding of the values and institutions that sustain a free and virtuous society. Founded in 1953, ISI works to educate for liberty to identify the best and brightest college students and to nurture in these future leaders the American ideal of ordered liberty. To accomplish this goal, ISI seeks to enhance the rising generation s knowledge of our nation s founding principles limited government, individual liberty, personal responsibility, the rule of law, market economy, and moral norms. Through its integrated program of lectures, conferences, publications, and fellowships, the institute annually works with tens of thousands of students and faculty from coast to coast. Canon serves as ISI s principal vehicle for communicating with its supporters. 3 First Principles Web Journal First Principles, ISI s new web journal, is the premiere showcase for ISI content, featuring both new articles and classic material from prominent conservative authors such as Roger Scruton, Robert Bork, and Russell Kirk writing in Modern Age, the Intercollegiate Review, and other ISI publications. Updated daily, the website also hosts six theme pages centered around short tutorial courses on Western civilization, free markets and civil society, the American experience, America s security and role in the world, higher education and the liberal arts, and the conservative intellectual tradition. It is one of the most frequented online sources for intellectually rigorous conservatism.
