B. Visit Description I. Purpose : The south of Libya is historically related to the countries of Sudan, Chad, Niger, Mali and Algeria. Unfortunately, during the past decades the politicians in Libya, its neighboring countries and the international community have shown to be unaware of the reality that the region, during its long history, was a ground of entente, harmony, mutual understanding, which allowed its population to develop schemes of cooperation in the cultural, economic and religious fields. It is therefore, important to start a rational and scientific analysis and exchange of ideas between experts. This would lay the ground for the politicians to get a better understanding and appreciation of the common points that unite the region. Hence, this would help avoid the sources of misunderstanding and conflict and would create a platform for a durable and sustainable development for the region and its local population, which is the way for stability and welfare. II. Objectives: III.
