Ram IPSA National Senior Political Scientist Award to Professor Noorjahan Bawa. Professor V.S. Chaturvedi National Young Political Scientist Award 2012 The first ever IPSA National Young Political Scientist Award in e memory of Late Professor Madhukar Shyam Chaturvedi for e year 2012 is given to Dr. Anupam Sharma. Professor Madhukar Shyam Chaturvedi was a long time member of Indian Political Science Association and served as Vice President and for a few years. An academician par excellence wi unfailing compassion and enviable capabilities, he was known for his sharp analytical skills and immensely co-operative attitude. His unique contribution to e study of Ancient Indian Politics and his candid analysis of e Contemporary Political Scenario had been effectively demonstrating his great academic acumen. Indian Political Science Association proudly remembers its former on is occasion Dr. Anupam Sharma is a fast emerging scholar of e discipline of Political Science. She has been teaching Political Science since 1997 in various capacities. She was awarded Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant National Award for e year 2007 for her book on Cyber Crime by e Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. She has been awarded e Best NSS Programme Officer Award for e year She was given Doctoral Fellowship by BPRD as well as e National Fellowship for her D. Litt. She was UNESCO Research Fellow in Japan in , Visiting Fellow in Central European University, Budapest (Hungary), and Visiting Fellow in Thammasat University, Bangakok (Thailand). She has completed research projects on Role of Police in Prevention of Crime in Industrial Towns, Democratic System, Administrative Culture in Police Administration and Maintenance of Law and Order in Urban Perspective sponsored by University Grants Commission and Indian Council of Social Science Research. Dr. Anupam Sharma has published many books and large number of research papers in various journals. She has supervised six Ph.D candidates. She is actively engaged in serious research. Dr. Barwal was e President of Indian Public Administration Association; and General Secretary, Vice President and President of e Indian Political Science Association. He worked as Proctor, Chief Warden, OSD, Dean, Member EC, Chief Employment Bureau, etc. in university administration. Having a vast experience of organizing training programmes and academic events, Professor Barwal has also served as a trainer for government, public sector, banking sector and oer professional organizations. Supervising more an seventy candidates for e degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science, Public Administration and Management, he has done independent research and a good number of projects on Weaker Sections and Women Issues. He has widely travelled in India and abroad including countries like United Kingdom, United States, Japan, Singapore, Norway, Thailand, Canada, Argentina, UAE, Hong Kong and former USSR. He has published more an ree dozen research papers in professional journals besides publishing a good number of books on Public Administration, Local Self Government, Social Justice, Management, National Integration, Good Governance, Right to Information and Modern Political Analysis. For his contribution to e academics, he has been awarded Dr. Ganesh Shankar Vidyaree Award, Best Research Paper Award, Parvat Gaurav Samman, Uttarakhand Ratan and Intellectual Peace Award besides oers. As a long standing life member of Indian Political Science Association, his contribution to e functioning of e Indian Political Science Association and proliferation of e objectives of e organization is commendable. 5 Shri Nihal Singh Yadav for Contribution to e Study of Ancient Indian Politics The first ever Sri Nihal Singh yadav for Contribution to e Study of Ancient Indian Politics is given to Professor KK Mishra. Shri Nihal Singh Yadav was a philanropic educationict of rural Delhi, a popular teacher of English, deeply spiritual scholar of History, Urdu, Arabic and Persian and a trusted Ayurvedic practitioner. Born to a farmer in sou Haryana, he topped his province in board examination wi distinction in all subjects, but e financial constraints and non-availability of educational institutions in e area forced him to join as a clerk in e Army. He had a British General as his boss who hated his Indian Clerk when he corrected his drafts grammatically and linguistically. He travelled to Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Afghanistan, Japan etc wi e army during e Second World War, but left it at e first opportunity, took a degree in Ayurved and started a flourishing practice. Besides, he continued furer studies and acquired degrees in Education and History and soon was invited to head a DAV School amidst Samaipur Badli villages in Rural Delhi wi twenty students and two make shift rooms which he expanded to a senior secondary school wi around two ousand students of almost twenty neighbouring villages and produced board toppers A kind and compassionate soul, firm believer in equity and social dignity for all, he encouraged and supported poor students for higher studies and provided free English coaching to girl students which he continued till his last brea. While studying Ayurveda, he was fascinated by Sanskrit which continued lifelong and made him advise his own children and a number of his students study Sanskrit and appreciate India and its civilization roots. Professor Kaushal Kishore Mishra is an outstanding scholar of e ancient Indian politics and institutions. He has done extremely commendable research in e field of ancient and modern Indian political ought, Indian government and politics and journalism. He has published more an twenty books and seventy five research papers. Professor Mishra has supervised irty scholars for e degree of Doctor of Philosophy. He served as a member of Madhyamik Shiksha Chayan Board of Uttar Pradesh for ree years. His contribution to e study of ancient Indian politics is seminal, committed and extraordinary. He has given new meanings to e ancient Indian texts wi contemporary reference. His readings on Manu Smriti, Panchtantra, Mahabharata, Kamandak and Kautilya's Arashastra have demonstrated his immense intellectual understanding and impartial analytical streng.
