Dan Gottschalk suggested that this year we should try to create a budget for the club, and discussed how we could change our scholarship to incoming freshman. Dr. Peters talked about an opportunity to attend a meeting about fundraisers. It was also noted that individuals could talk to other students about fundraisers at the upcoming AAAE conference. It was discussed that the Chicken BBQ be planned further ahead of time next year by the executive committee. Soils Invitational coming up September 22nd Executive Committee meeting Wednesday September 5 th, 5:30pm, all chairs expected to attend. The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m. by President Brian Springer.

3 September 5th, 2007 The meeting room was called to order at 5:32 p.m. by President Brian Springer. Officer Reports: James Wolff made the treasurers report. Our current balance is $ Special Reports: None Megan Oldham has contacted Kyle Bymaster about fundraisers; he will be meeting with them on Tuesday. They elected cochairs during meeting and did introductions of members. Articles were assigned and due Sept. 17 th to have a newsletter out by Sept. 25 th. Had introductions of members, will be discussing Fall Frolic next meeting. Melissa Burcham has looked into having a display in the Stewart Center during State Convention. James Wolff would like everyone to pay dues as soon as possible, $15, this will be mentioned in all classes. It was suggested that Campus and Community look into preparing for Pumpkin Carving and Trafalgar Work Day. Stated that on our display board needs to be spelled out so others know what it means. Suggestion was made to invite other clubs to our fall frolic like ACT If anyone wants to get clothes for Purdue it needs to get done early, Publicity committee will decide on how to handle it. Everyone needs to participate in committee meetings in YDAE 240, and they need to be done around 11 or 11:05 to have the regular meetings. Next executive meeting will be in two weeks. The meeting was adjourned at 5:57 p.m. by President Brian Springer. Jenny Cherry Purdue Historian Brian Springer Purdue President

5 September 19, 2007 The meeting room was called to order at 5:32 p.m. by President Brian Springer. Officer Reports: James reported the treasury of having $ and said he had dues from about half of the members. Greg talked about community service at the Women s Shelter. They had two things they could have us do (repairing steps, and putting together a storage building), both only requiring 25 people. The grant from Purdue also needs to be placed immediately if we wanted to help the Women s Shelter. Discussion was that members would like something that more of the club can participate in. It was also suggested to contact the Boiler Volunteer Network for a community service project that could involve the entire club. Special Reports: None Trafalgar Work Day is scheduled for October 13 th and housing is still questionable. Aleesa is going to try to get a list of items they need us to do so we can get necessary tools. Pumpkin Painting will be Monday October 15 th at 5pm at the Boys and Girls Club. All articles were turned in for the newsletter and it should be out by next Tuesday. Supplies have been checked upon for the Fall Frolic, and a list is being made for supplies to buy. It will be October 4 th at Happy Hollow Park, we have a shelter reserved from 49pm, eating will begin at 5:30pm. Committee members are asked to bring a list of possible banquet speakers to the next meeting in YDAE 240. Discussion with Jared Roberts came to the conclusion that it is a bad idea to order both hoodies and tshirts. If more people order one item only we will get a bigger discount on price. The decision will be made in YDAE 240. Discussion on how to collect the money was made, one suggestion was to collect a down payment from members who wanted a clothing item. Every committee needs to bring ideas for clothing designs to the next YDAE 240 meeting. James and Aaron have put together a rough estimate of expenses/income in order to plan a club budget. They would like to meet with the cochairs of the Program and Career Development, and the Awards, Membership, and Finance committees to work more on the projected budget. Mary brought up the condition of our display board, and would like to make improvements to it. Suggestions were to purchase a new one or put time into repairing the one we have.

6 James said that the Collegiate 4H Club asked if we would volunteer our time to make sandwiches for them for their regional conference, but they would pay for our expenses. The conference is November 24 th. He is going to ask for volunteers in YDAE 240 and ask the Collegiate 4H their budget for the sandwiches. Fall Frolic October 4 th, 5:30pm at Happy Hollow Park Trafalgar Work Day October 13 th Pumpkin Painting October 15 th, 5pm Boys and Girls Club College of Agriculture Hog Roast October 16 th Next Executive Meeting October 17 th National FFA Convention October 2227 th The meeting was adjourned at 6:18 p.m. by President Brian Springer. 7 October 3, 2007 The meeting room was called to order at 5:33 p.m. by Vice President Sarah Newkirk. Officer Reports: Greg said he has kept in contact with Rita at the Women s Shelter and that she would gather things for something for us to do for next spring. James gave the treasurers report of $ , and said about 65 people have paid dues so far. James also reminded everyone that event planning forms need to be turned in 2 weeks prior to the event if it is within the county, and travel planning forms if it is out of the county. If this is not done our expenses may not be reimbursed. Special Reports: None Talked to Sarah McGee about selling fruit and their school is not allowed. They will be in contact with Benton Central or Delphi to see about fruit selling and storage. There are 2 fruit companies that give scholarships to Purdue, so these companies will be the priority to buy from. Another idea for fundraiser is selling bags of popcorn. There will be 50 pumpkins for Pumpkin Painting, they are not sure if they will be donated or purchased yet. Pumpkin Painting will begin at 5:00pm so members need to arrive at 4:45pm at the Boys and Girls Club. s will be sent out as reminders for Pumpkin Painting and Trafalgar Work Day. Talked with the Boiler Volunteer Network and we just need to give them a date and they will plan an event for us. The next newsletter will not be out until November. Discussed Fall Frolic, 1216 members of ACT said they will be coming. Still taking banquet speaker ideas, discussed when this needs to be decided and by whom. The committee will decide on the banquet speaker since we don t have another meeting for some time. After voting is done on the shirt designs they will be in contact with Jerry. Oct. 16 th, YDAE 240 will be held in the Deans Auditorium and their will be a reception afterwards. Volunteers are needed to serve food and drinks from 11:2012:20, expected to dress nice. Doug Loudenslager is the speaker on the topic of Future of Agriculture Education. Mentor/Mentee Halloween Costume Party is set for October 30 th. There will be drinks, apple cider, and prizes. Trafalgar Work Day October 13 th Pumpkin Painting October 15 th, 5pm Boys and Girls Club College of Agriculture Hog Roast October 16 th

They are checking into selling popcorn as a fundraiser also. Pumpkin Painting went well, everyone had fun, and they had 32 kids show up. The November newsletter will be the last one for the semester. Fall Frolic went well. The banquet speaker has not been decided yet. Campus and Community won the shirt votes. A deadline is needed for collecting money and taking orders. Mary discussed a deadline for taking shirt money. James suggested three weeks which would give two meetings in YDAE 240 for collecting money. This would make it due by November 6 th. Sarah said the Mentor Committee will be shopping at Walmart for Apple Cider, prizes, and will be renting a movie for the Halloween night, and they need a budget. Sarah moved to give the Mentor Committee a budget of $50, motion was seconded and passed. Mariah Wise brought up the Evaluation of Activities sheet for Purdue events. It hasn t been used in a while and everyone discussed starting using it again. It was also suggested to revise the POA in the committee folders as the year goes along. The evaluation sheet was read over to everyone and small revisions are going to be made and prepared for the Oct. 30 th committee meetings. Brian brought up the Christmas Party. Someone needs to contact farmhouse, and a date needs to be set. December 6 th is a possible date so far. Brian told everyone how the officer procedures work. James said that everyone needs to get their event/travel planning forms in earlier than they have been getting turned in. They should be turned in at least 2 weeks prior to the event. It was suggested to fill them out as soon as a date is set for the activity. National FFA Convention October 2227 th The meeting was adjourned at 6:02 p.m. by President Brian Springer.
