3 Dear Senator, dear reader, ASAC President Message.- I am sending you greetings from the lovely Paramaribo. We are at the end of yet another month and at the beginning of new month. Looking at this process is resembles the process we are experiencing in our lives. We are in an environment which is constantly changing and with acknowledging this given, we ourselves have to be ready to constantly adapt to new situations. In our existence, history has proven that it is not the strongest nor the most intelligent ones that survives in changing environments, but those who are able and willing to adapt. As an organization and association we also have to constantly make changes to adapt to the changes around us, in order to survive. We are lucky to have members who are willing to support and participate in this process of change. For us to know what changes to make, how to adapt and how to support programs which contribute to the achievement of our mission, we will be executing our annual Virtual Forum program. This program was designed to give JCI Senators a chance to express their opinion on topics of general interest and that could contribute to the achievement of ASAC s mission including the JCI s mission and vision. This program will be executed in March and April We are moving closer to the end of the term of this Board and the activities for electing a new Board of Directors for ASAC for the term has been started. In order to have this election we need candidates who are motivated and committed to contribute to the objectives of ASAC and JCI. We are looking for candidate who wants to serve our fellow JCI Senators and JCI members. The period to register as a candidate for a position in the ASAC Board of Directors is now open and will last up to a month before the ASAC General Meeting scheduled to be held during the 2018 JCI Conference of the Americas in Miami Florida. I am also inviting you to join us in Miami and to participate in this conference which is being hosted by JCI s Staff and headquarter. We expect to meet the winners of awards again during the 2018 JCI Area conference and we are all looking forward to meet with the winners of the various awards for their hard work during the year creating sustainable impact and brining about positive changes in our communities. In order to host this activity, JCI have asked us as ASAC and JCI Senators to support this award program by donating an amount of money to JCI. We confirmed to support this program because it is important to recognize all of our young JCI members who have performed well during the year and those who could be seen as an example and inspiration for JCI member and Organizations around the World. The preparations of organizing the 10 th ASAC Encounter for JCI Senator in the beautiful Cartagena Colombia is in progress and a large group of senators will be participating. If you did not register yet, please do this as soon as possible. Also, follow the developments around this event closely in order for you to get the most out of participating in this annual event which contains lots of Tourism, Culture, Business andbrotherhood. The ASAC Board of Directors introduced a program called Tombola last year, with the objective to generate more cash for supporting the management of the administration of ASAC and its programs.
