1 August 2013 THE SAN JOSE COIN CLUB NEWSLETTER TODO DINERO San Jose Coin Club, PO Box 5621, San Jose, CA Editor: Ryan Johnson Youth Night! Going once Going Twice Sold! A big thank you goes to Brian Daniels for Auctioneering our Youth Raffle for all of the youth members in attendance. All of the youth members in attendance were able to bid on items to further their collection and interest in the hobby. Donations acquired throughout the year by members and fundraising done at shows such as the Santa Clara Coin Show are events in which help to support our youth program. Food night was also a success a big thank you goes to Sally, Ray, and Ryan Johnson for setting up and organizing Pizza night, the food was delicious and went fast! A big thank you goes to picnic chair Keith Scott for setting up another fantastic picnic enjoyed by both San Jose Coin Club and Cupertino Coin members. The feast included hamburgers, hot dogs, and even chicken. The feast and comradery was enjoyed by over 40 members of both clubs and after the delicious lunch cooked by our chefs we had a stellar raffle with some great prizes. AUGUST S RAFFLE PRIZES INCLUDE: Bust Half Dollar S Seated Liberty Quarter U.S. Silver Proof Set Franklin Half Dollar Seated Liberty Dime 6. Canada 1983 Specimen Silver Dollar S Eisenhower 40% Silver Dollar, Proof U.S. Special Mint Set Indian Cent No Cents Liberty Nickel Other Hobbies Night! This month instead of having a speaker we have our members share what their other hobbies might be aside from numismatics. In the past we ve had pottery, model trains, even singing. Come and see what your fellow numismatists do on the side, who knows you might even meet a fellow club member who has the same interest as you. The rules are the same as regular show and tell; you have three-minutes to share your numismatic item and your other hobby. You can share your numismatic item or your other hobby or both if you want, just remember you only have three minutes. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting! We need help! We re looking for a new refreshments chair and a new Historian. The Historian sits on the board and has voting rights. If you re interested at all or have any questions as to what these jobs entail please see President Bill Meadows or someone on our board if you re interested in helping in the kitchen and bringing some delicious refreshments to our monthly General Meetings at the American Legion Hall. It s that time of year to add more San Jose Coin Club Silver medals to your set. We have both numbered and unnumbered medals available but you must order soon as supplies are limited! See the medals order form attached to the newsletter or see Gordon Stubbs at the general meeting in July! Time is running out membership dues are due! Please see membership chair Ed Sins during the General meeting to pay your dues and or make sure your dues are current! If you can t make it to a meeting and you re not sure if your dues are due membership chair Ed Sins will be sending you a letter showing an amount owed. Dues for Adults are $5 and Youth $2 a year. Also don t forget to see your Editor, Ryan Johnson for renewing your $12 subscription for your newsletter Todo Dinero if you want it mailed to you.
