1 NOMINATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF NOMINATION FORMS 1. In terms of clause 8(6) of the CETA Constitution (hereinafter referred to as the Constitution ) it is a requirement that before the lapse of the term of office of the CETA s Accounting Authority, a new Accounting Authority is appointed to take over CETA oversight and governance. 2. General Information: 2.1 Six (6) persons must be nominated by organized labour; 2.2 Six (6) persons must be nominated by organized employers; 2.3 Two (2) persons must be nominated by: any government department that has an interest in the construction sector and that is not an organized employer; any interested professional body; any bargaining council with jurisdiction in the construction sector; or any organization in a community that has an identifiable interest in skills development in the construction sector. 3. Please note that nominations in respect of organized labour and organized employers must be accompanied by proof of registration in terms of section 96 of the Labour Relations Act, Members must be formally nominated by their organizations and must sign a letter of consent confirming that they accept the nomination, which must be submitted together with the nomination. 5. Nominations are sought from qualifying individuals to serve on the Accounting Authority as representative of the Construction SETA from the following sub-sectors: 5.1 Building Construction; 5.2 Roads and Civil Construction; 5.3 Materials Manufacturing; and 5.4 Built Environment Professionals

2 NOMINATIONS CLOSE ON MONDAY 31 JULY 2017 AT 11AM. 6. Please note that the following documents should accompany the Nomination Form: 6.1 A signed motivation letter by the organisation, detailing the nominee s suitability for the appointment as appears in Annexure A. 6.2 A brief and recently updated curriculum vitae of the nominee including three (3) contactable references and certified copies of the nominee s academic qualifications, certified ID document and proof of residence (not older than three months). 6.3 Documented proof of registration of the organization. 7. All candidates will be required to disclose all business interests and will be subjected to security clearance. 3 Annexure A LETTER OF NOMINATION FOR APPOINTMENT OF ACCOUNTING AUTHORITY MEMBERS OF THE CONSTRUCTION EDUCATION AND TRAINING AUTHORITY (CETA). I in my capacity as nominate in his/her capacity as to be appointed as a member of the Accounting Authority of the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA). To the best of my knowledge, the candidate meets the selection criteria for members of the Accounting Authority as set out in the Construction Education and Training Authority s Constitution (hereinafter referred to as the Constitution ) and has the relevant knowledge, skills and expertise including but not limited to the following: 1. Is knowledgeable of the functioning of the CETA Accounting Authority in terms of the requirements relating to corporate governance and ethics; 2. Has the ability to liaise with stakeholders; 3. Has the ability to provide a strategic direction for the CETA; 4. Has knowledge of the skills and development legislation and the NSDS; 5. Has an understanding of the CETA s responsibility in respect of service delivery; 6. Shows leadership and team management skills; 7. Is well versed with the PFMA and financial management; 8. Education, training, skills development and human resources development; 9. General management and business skills; 10. Management of institutional risk; 11. Management of sub-committees established by the Accounting Authority and ensuring compliance with the Code of Conduct as set out in Annexure 2 of the Constitution; 12. Communication and marketing role of an entity in relation to its stakeholders; and
