2 2015 Fall Elections All seven statewide and 144 legislative seats are up for reelection this fall. Qualifying for all offices will be held September General election is on October 24; runoff will be held on November 21. In the Senate: 7 senators are term-limited 24 senators have no current opposition In the House: 14 members are term-limited, and eight more are leaving 60 members have no current opposition

3 Why would anyone want to be a Louisiana legislator or governor? Immediately upon taking office, they will face a deficit of at least $250 million in the current fiscal year, which ends June 30, Under the best scenario, the state will start the next fiscal year with a $700 million hole. In addition, the state faces a structural deficit of $1 billion for the following four years. The new administration and Legislature will be faced with the task of cutting additional services and raising additional revenue.
