SENATE BILL NO. 105 BY SENATOR ELLINGTON To amend and reenact R.S. 11:708(A)(1) relative to the Teachers' Retirement System of Louisiana; to provide for reemployment of retired members who participated in the Deferred Retirement Option Program; to provide for reemployment of such retired members through the qualified teacher shortage provisions; to provide for an effective date; and to provide for referred to the Committee on Retirement. SENATE BILL NO. 106 BY SENATOR DEAN To amend and reenact Section 1 of Act No. 931 of the 1997 Regular Session of the Legislature of Louisiana, to declare that the public and necessary purpose which may have originally supported the expropriation of certain property in the parish of Plaquemines, known as Cheniere Ronquillo, located in Sections 9, 10, 15, and 16 of Township 21 South, Range 26 East, has ceased to exist; to authorize the heirs of Don Juan Ronquillo and Graciana Solis; to assert their rights of ownership; and to provide for referred to the Committee on Natural Resources.

2 Page 2 SENATE SENATE BILL NO. 107 BY SENATOR HEITMEIER To amend and reenact R.S. 11:791(A)(2) and (3) and to repeal R.S. 11:739 and 791(A)(4) and (5), relative to the Teachers' Retirement System of Louisiana; to provide for the reemployment of members who participated in the Deferred Retirement Option Plan and who have been retired for twenty-four consecutive months; to provide for an effective date; and to provide for related referred to the Committee on Retirement. SENATE BILL NO. 108 BY SENATOR HEITMEIER To enact Chapter 23 of Title 25 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to be comprised of R.S. 25:1011 through 1016, and R.S. 36:4(T), to create the Louisiana Governor's Mansion Commission; to provide for the jurisdiction and purpose of the commission; to provide for membership appointment, powers, duties, and responsibilities; to provide for the audit and inventory of certain property; to provide that certain inventory is covered by adequate insurance; to require certain repairs and maintenance be performed; to define public and private areas of the Governor's Mansion and its grounds; to authorize certain civil actions; and to provide for SENATE BILL NO. 109 BY SENATOR GREENE A JOINT RESOLUTION Proposing to amend Article VII, Section 10.1(C)(2) and (3), the introductory paragraph of (D)(1), (D)(1)(c), the introductory paragraph of (D)(2), and (D)(2)(a), (c), and (g) and Article VIII, Section 3(A), 5(A), the introductory paragraph of (D), (D)(3), (4), and (5), and (E) and 8(B) and to add Article VII, Section 10.1(D)(1)(d), (e), and (f) and Article VIII, Section 7.1, all of the Constitution of Louisiana, relative to providing for the governance and management of education; to create and provide for the Louisiana Community and Technical College System; to establish the Board of Community and Technical Colleges and provide for it as a management board for the system subject to the planning, coordinating, and budgeting responsibility of the Board of Regents; to provide for the appointment of members by the governor with the consent of the Senate; to provide for their terms; to provide for a student member; to provide that such board have supervision and management of all public postsecondary-vocational technical schools and certain institutions of higher education as assigned by law; to transfer a portion of the monies appropriated out of the Louisiana Quality Education Support Fund from the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education to the Board of Regents along with the authority to allocate money for postsecondary vocational-technical educational purposes; to provide for effectiveness; and to specify an election for submission of the proposition to electors and provide a ballot proposition. SENATE BILL NO. 112 To amend and reenact R.S. 47:322.37(B)(1); to remove certain restrictions on use of funds available to the St. Tammany Parish Tourist Commission; to authorize the use of research money provided by the commission to event center districts within the parish to be expended for certain purposes; and to provide for

SENATE BILL NO. 126 BY SENATORS LANDRY, EWING, DARDENNE, HAINKEL, BARHAM AND ROMERO AND REPRESENTATIVES DIEZ, DOWNER, DEWITT AND MCMAINS To amend and reenact R.S. 32:1(93), 2(C) and (D), 3(C), 388(E) and (F)(1), and 389(A), R.S. 36:408(B)(3) and 409(C)(8), R.S. 40:1379.8, and R.S. 47:718(B)(1) and (C) and 812(C) and to repeal R.S. 32:1(93.1) and 2(E), relative to the Department of Transportation and Development, Weights and Standards Police Force; to transfer the Weights and Standards Stationary Scale Police Force to the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, office of state police; and to provide for referred to the Committee on Transportation, Highways, and Public Works. SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 8 BY SENATOR THEUNISSEN To express the support of the Legislature of Louisiana for the establishment of a separate, associate degree granting division of McNeese State University to offer certificate and two-year programs of study, including workforce development programs and developmental education programs and parallel lower division programs for those students planning to transfer to four-year institutions. On motion of Senator Bagneris, the resolution was read by title and SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 9 BY SENATOR THEUNISSEN To urge and request the Board of Regents to study the need for and feasibility of establishing the Lake Area Community College as a public two-year institution on the campus of McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
