In any case of discrepancy between the original Hebrew text and the English translation, the Hebrew version shall prevail. This Amendment Sheet updates Israel Standard SI 746 Part 1 of November 1983 Clause Scope Delete this Clause including the table and replace with: This Standard deals with products of fish of the species tlai detailed in Table 1 and preserved by heat treatment hereinafter "the product"). The Standard also applies to products containing vegetables in addition to fish but does not *apply to fish spread. Classification and designation Delete this Clause and replace with: The product shall be classified and designated as follows (the expression with quotation marks are the designation of the product) Product based on fish without vegetables In accordance with the fish shape; ,, Solid ' pack (see Clause ): ). " Chunks (see Clause (1) It is permitted to add the designation "From Eilath" if the fish has been caught in the Red Sea

(see Clause salad or" Vegetables with and column 8 in Table 4) Clause Ingredients Delete Sub-Clause and replace with: A) The fish - The.fish used for the preparation of the product shall be clean and fresh (refrigerated or frozen) without foreign matter and shall be suitable for human consumption as required by the competent authorities (see Regulations for public health (food) Fish ) test) issued in 1981 as published in Kovetz Ha-Takkanot 4254 of or any other regulation which may replace it. The fish shall be only of the species <1A> specified in Table 1. In the second container no fish of different species shall be found. When tested in accordance with the Regulation for public health (food) (Fish test) the fish shall have the characteristic smell of fresh fish, and it shall be without any traces of odour indicating spoilage and it shall be free of dangerous matters (like mercury or histamine) in excess of the quantity permitted in the Order for public health (see the Regulations in the References). The fish shall be cleaned and washed thoroughly in running water prior to its preparation and the following parts of the fish shall be removed: head, entrails, tail, fins, traces of blood, dark meat (to be found in the centre of the fish) (see Figure 1) scales, skin and bones. No parts looking like honey comb, due to the action of freezing shall be found in the fish. For the production of "white tuna only Thunnus alalunga (Table 1) shall be used.

4 Species of dark fish shall not be used in manufacturing product of class as they will cause the non compliance with the colour requirement of Clause 203. B) Brown fish meat - Brown fish meat (see Figure 1) may be used only in manufacturing product of class Clause Additives The following additives may be added to the product: Drinking water conforming with the Regulations regarding sanitary quality of drinking water* 2 **', edible salt, spices, citric acid, mono-sodium glutamate and sodium pyrophosphate (so as to prevent the formation of struvite salts.) All additives shall be clean and of quality suitable for human consumption. Clause Marking Open marking - The marking shall be according to the requirements of Israel Standard SI 1145 with the following additions and changes: The name of a product based on fish without vegetables (103.1) shall be a combination of the "Accepted Hebrew name" of the fish (see column 1 in Table 1) and its shape (according to Clause ). Furthemore the packing media and the colour of the fish (Clauses , ) shall be marked as part of the product's name or as a secondary marking. - The name of the product based on fish with vegetables shall be as detailed in Clause It is permitted to indicate names of fish in more details than those given in Column 2 of Table 1 (see Hebrew text of Standard) provided that the marking is correct and not misleading. The translation of a more detailed name of the species of the fish into a foreign language (other than Hebrew) does not require the translation of all other details of the marking. If the product is made of pressed units (102.8) the word "pressed" shall be marked as a secondary marking. Secondary marking shall be located near the products name in letters not less than 2/3 in size of the letters of the product, s name If the product is specially spiced, the level of spicing (like "hot") shall be marked as secondary marking to the product's name. 5 Clause 201 Amendment Sheet No.l Part 1 of SI 746 (1988) It is permitted to mark the words in vegetable oil or to indicate the origin of the oil. It is permitted to indicate the origin of the oil only if there is no oil of another origin in the product. The word pure is permitted only if the oil is pure olive oil as defined in Israel Standard SI The content shall be marked in accordance with the following rules and only in values detailed in Table 4 of this Standard: Net weight - shall be marked on all kinds of the product; - Drained weight - shall bemarked on all kinds of the product except types ) with ( vegetables and ;( vegetable with salad" or } Fish weight - compulsory to mark only in types and On product of type the vegetables shall be detailed or the words Season vegetables shall be marked. If a component for wfeich a special Israel Standard exists is mentioned, it is permitted to indicate it by its general name (like: salt, sugar) without specifying its type No marking hinting to the quality of the product (like: excellent") shall be used. Dates shall be marked as indicated in Israel Standard SI 1145 for products having a shelf life of more than one year In addition to the open marking required by SI 1145, the containers shall be marked in accordance with the Order of Control of commodities and services (code marking of prepackaged food) <ab> or any other legal directive which may replace it. The marking by code of product and manufacturer is not compulsory if the open marking is printed directly on the container,( lithographed ) but if in the open marking instead of the manufacturer's name the name of the dealer is marked, the code for the identification of the manufacturer shall be added. - General requirements Delete the clause and replace it with: Containers - The external surface of the containers shall be free from oil, rust or dirt whatsoever. The top and the bottom of the containers shall be flat or concave. T2iT~K0vetz Ha-Takkanot 4545 of

6 No conspicuous signs of chemical attack or of peeling of the coating shall be found on the internal surface of the tin. Containers with impared lacquer shall be considered defective. In steel containers the closure of the container shall comply with the requirements of Israel Standard SI 136 Part 1 and in addition to that the closure shall comply with the description of Fig.2. Nevertheless, it is permitted that the container shall not comply with the dimensions specified in Fig.2, on condition that a can opener, permitting an efficient opening of the container, shall be provided with it. Fig.2 - Top seam of the can The fish - The colour of the fish shall be typical of the species. Its odour and flavour shall indicate good preservation. The taste shall not be bitter or rancid. The fish shall be free of discoloration and of strange tint {like: greenish luminious tint). The tissue of the fish shall be firm but not hard or fibrous. The fish shall not contain parts required to be removed as per Clause 104.l Vegetables - (in products of type , ) - The vegetables shall be in form of pellets or cubes in accordance with the type of vegetable. The vegetables shall not be squashed and shall be free from defects of any kind and free from insects. The product shall be without any vegetable refuse Liquid - The liquid shall be free from glass-like lumps (struvite salts). Clause Size and shape of fish units When tested in accordance with Clause 304 the size of fish units according to their shape ( ) shall be as follows:

7 Product based on fish without vegetables: Solid pack - Each solid pack shall be made of fish muscles with minimum weight of 35 g, cut across the back bone or diagonal to it, so that the original form of fish fibres are preserved. In containers of 450 g capacity or less, the thickness of the pack shall fit the height of the container. In containers of more than 450 g capacity, the product shall be made of packs of at least 2.5 cm thick arranged in parallel layers. The packs shall be placed in the container with their transverse cut ends parallel to the bottom of the container. To make up the weight of the fish in the container, it is permitted to add a piece of fish-muscle weighing less than 35 g. Due to disintegration of the packs, pieces of fish smaller than stated above may be found in the container provided their total weight is not more than 18% of the fish in the container Chunks - The product shall be made of fish units maintaining the muscle shape, each weighing not less than 5 g. The product shall be made so that at least 90% of the drained weight as required in Table 4, comply with this requirement Flakes - The product shall be made of fish units maintaining the muscle shape, each weighing not less than 1 g. The product shall be made so that at least 90% of the drained weight, as required in Table 4, comply with this requirement Grated - The product shall be made of a mixture of small fish units (even less than 1 g) but not having the consistency of a spread Product based on fish with vegetables - The weight of the fish units in product of type shall be at least as required of flakes. The weight of fish units in product of type shall be at least as required of grated. Clause Fish colour Add the following sentence at the end of the Clause: The requirements of this Clause do not apply to product of type Clause Product content The volume of the containers used for filling with product shall be as detailed in column 1 of Table 4.

8 The declared values of "Net weight", "Drained weight" and "Fish weight" shall be as required in Clause and that only in values specified in Table 4. The actual values shall be at least as specified in Table 4. Clause General test Delete the clause and replace with: Test each container in the "Normal sample" (Clause ) together with its content for compliance with requirements of Clause 201. When testing closure of the container, test the depth of the sinkage, only in case of doubt, with an apparatus having an accuracy of at least 0.1mm. (5) The product called "pressed" in any packing media, shall comply with the requirements in Column (5). 8

9 Test for compliance of the product with requirements of Clause 202 as follows: Open the cover of the container and remove it. Separate the liquid and transfer the content of the container carefully to a a strainer (for testing drained weight). After weighing separate ', solid packs", "chunks", "flakes" and "grated" and weigh each group separately. If during the test, fish muscle disintegrates into smaller units but the tester is able to determine, according to the muscle fibres that the disintegrated parts belong to one fish unit, all parts of the disintegrated unit shall be weighed and noted as one unit. If the product contains vegetables, separate the parts of the vegetables and weigh the amount of fish remaining on the strainer. If the product is "pressed", separate the units and test their weight according to the declaration'.
