2 Judicial Branch Associate Justice Eligibility 1. Must be enrolled at least halftime as a student at Santa Fe College. 2. Must have and maintain a SFC cumulative 2.0 GPA or above. 3. Must attach a résumé to the first page of this application detailing the following: a. Past experiences, Volunteer work, Previous jobs, Co-curricular activities, and Honors or Awards ASSOCIATE JUSTICE The purpose of the four (4) Associate Justices are to vote on Supreme Court Cases; to support and aid the Chief Justice in making critical decisions; to maintain proper electoral procedures as a non-bias entity The Associate Justices shall: Counsel members of Student Government and Students in matters relating to the Constitution; Vote in Supreme Court sessions and Election Council meetings; Write opinions to be provided to Senate Oversight Committee regarding decisions; Assist the Chief Justice in any matter deemed necessary; Be available to students by means of office hours in accordance with the Student Government Procedural Handbook; Report directly to the Chief Justice. CLERK OF THE SUPREME COURT The purpose of the Clerk of the Supreme Court is to maintain the records of the Supreme Court; administer oaths to witnesses; promote transparency. The Clerk of the Supreme Court shall: Schedule hearings before the Supreme Court; Create, maintain, copy and file all documents related to functions of the Supreme Court; Compose and publish the minutes from all hearings before the Supreme Court; Report directly to the Supreme Court Chief Justice.

3 BAILIFF OF THE SUPREME COURT The purpose of the Bailiff of the Supreme Court is to maintain decorum and ensure the smooth operation of Supreme Court Sessions. The Bailiff of the Supreme Court shall: Report directly to the Chief Justice; Prepare the facilities for meetings of the Supreme Court; At the direction of any Justice, escort individuals from the Supreme Court; and, Assist in maintaining decorum For more information, please contact the Student Body Chief Justice, Briana Sellers: Office: S-152 (352) There will be an interview following the submission of the application.
