2 You might think I m rumor-mongering (or tsismising...lol) because of the title. No, I m not. In a recent radio interview by GMA News, Vice President Leni Robredo, a widow, was asked by the program host about her love life. She answered, I have had enough love to last me a lifetime during my 25 years with Jesse. (Jesse was her late husband.) Love pa more, Madame Vice President! She looked blooming during the interview. That must have triggered the unsolicited probing question. I had no objection to the question even if seemed inappropriate because, as a widower, I was interested to know the answer, too. Lol. 2 / 9

3 North Korea According to an AOL post, most of the country of North Korea is said to be starving, with a huge percentage of the population dangerously malnourished...the country is therefore trying to increase its arable farmland in order to feed its people. However, due to still using farming methods from the 1700s, this isn t really working out, with people all over the country emaciated and malnourished. North Koreans who escape to China are easily recognizable for being extremely thin, and for their tendencies to eat everything they see. So, only one person is fat in North Korea? 4 Death of Imelda Marcos was exaggerated in a fake news. A fellow congresswoman tweeted condolences to the grieving Marcos family in her Twitter. 5 Impeachment could be a nuisance Like North Korea s missile test that exploded on take-off, the impeachment case instigated by a group of Manila lawyers (one of whom is currently suspended from practicing law), against Vice President Leni Robredo, likewise exploded. It exploded on the faces of its proponents. The proponents could not find one member of the House of Representatives to endorse the impeachment as mandated by the Philippines fundamental law. Article XI, Section 2 of the PH Constitution provides: The President, the Vice-President, the Members of the Supreme Court, the Members of the Constitutional Commissions, and the Ombudsman may be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, culpable violation of the Constitution, treason, bribery, graft and corruption, other high crimes, or betrayal of public trust. All other public officers and employees may be removed from office as provided by law, but not by impeachment. Section 3 of same Article XI mandates: (1) The House of Representatives shall have the exclusive power to initiate all cases of impeachment. (2) A verified complaint for impeachment may be filed by any Member of the House of Representatives or by any citizen upon a resolution or endorsement by any Member thereof, which shall be included in the Order of Business within ten session days, and referred to the proper Committee within three session days thereafter... 5 / 9

6 Evidently, not one representative in Philippine Congress believed that Vice President Robredo committed any of the offenses enumerated in the Constitution when she criticized in a speech the killings under the anti-drug program of President Duterte. It is unbelievable that a small band of lawyers, about 4 or 5, one is even suspended, would instigate such a move to oust the Vice President without convincing grounds and could even be said to be out of whim. Instead of gaining points, they lost faces. The move could even be described as a nuisance. Perhaps, to save face from this very embarrassing experience, the same group, is now saying it will revisit the impeachment which exploded on their faces by adding more damning evidences. Whatever! 7 President Duterte s latest trust rating is excellent, according to SWS in Manila. Our issue against this President is not trust. We have always said that we trust, Mr. Duterte has, in some ways, the interest of the Filipinos, (not in the case of China; he is pro-china than pro-philippines) at heart. Our issue is his disregard for the rule of law in the mass killings of poor Filipinos suspected of being drug users and traffickers, now reportedly over 8,000. To us, and to those persons/groups that give importance to life and to law and human rights around the world, the issue of extrajudicial killing is basic. For them to condemn his actions on EJK is valid and is not interfering in the internal affairs of the Philippines. It is interfering in the universal credos of respect for life, public international law, and human rights. In one word, simple human decency. Not trust. President Duterte may be sincere in his desire to get rid his country of drugs but, we believe, his brutal approach is wrong. 7 / 9

Alan Peter Cayetano has been promised the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) position early on, immediately after delivering his alternative speech at the UN Human Rights review in Geneva, he was appointed Secretary of DFA. As the folk song goes, That s what you get for loving me. The good senator has to prove that he is, indeed, a Filipino citizen. Otherwise, he might suffer the fate of his predecessor who was rejected by the Commission on Appointments because he was not a Filipino citizen. 8 / 9

9 EX-FBI DIRECTOR JAMES COMEY The unceremonious firing of James Comey has raised questions of cover-up of the Russian investigation, which, Mr. Comey was the lead investigator. Others have compared what s happening in D.C. these days to the early seeds of Watergate scandal which led to the resignation of the late President Richard Nixon. The whole country is talking about this sensitive issue of possible tie-up between the Trump campaign and the Russians, bitter rival of USA, that could have aided the Trump victory in the last elections. It puts the Trump Administration on the defense. Like Nixon, will President Trump eventually resign if proven his group had relationship with the Russians? I don t think he will resign unless threatened with impeachment. He has reportedly filed papers that he will run for re-election in the next presidential elections.
