1 Student Government Association at Texas Wesleyan University Executive Office Committee Thursday, September 3,2015 SGA Chamber Executive Members in Attendance: President Borghee, Vice President Saheb, Secretary Hemani, Treasurer Bessinger, Chief Justice Brown, Head Representative Alghussein, Representative Tenney, Representative Tovar, Representative Saheb, Representative Milbery, Representative Coker, Representative Reed, Representative Jayaratne, Representative Menchaca, Representative Hasona, Assistant Murillo Meeting Start Time: 4:01PM Meeting Adjournment: 5:20PM Call to Order Invocation Pledges Swearing in of representatives Representative Saheb was sworn in. Call of the Roll Meeting Report Review Head Representative Algushussein made a motion to approve the minutes as Welcome from Dr. Miranda Visited the meeting last year and was inspired her to read Roberts Rules of Order. Would like to express how much the faculty appreciates the work of SGA. The work SGA is doing now will be valuable in the many years to come. Vote on Co-Advisors Treasurer Bessinger made a motion to approve Dr. Payne and Dr. Saled as Co- Advisors. Budget Approval Tresurer Bessinger gave a presentation on this year s budget. There was one abstention The motion passes Participation Program Vice President Saheb presented the bill. Participants must be present for at least 5 Business Meetings to be eligible to win. No more than $2,000 will be allocated for the SGA Participation Program. $1,500 will be awarded total for Organizations. $500 will be awarded total for Individuals. Section 2: No more than $2,050 will be allocated for the SGA Participation Program Title of Section 7 will be changed to Section 6. There were 2 Abstentions The bill was passed. Treasure Bessinger mentioned the 10 on Tuesday event. September 17 th is the Trinity River Clean up. Talk to Representative Bessinger for more information Vice President Sahab mentioned the contact sheets that were placed on the representative s mats. Dean Hall is excited for SGA this year. Reminds the council to have fun in the meetings within reason. Head Representative Algussein congratulated the new member Representative Hosana, things building and grounds cannot fix will be turned to the Service Desk no longer Facilities Secretary Hemani is excited for the new year and for all the new members.
