Ordinance adopted the official City of Dunedin coat of arms (seal), colors and tartan, motto and flag. This flag is the official flag ofthe City of Dunedin. Separately, there is a City flag depicting the motto "Dunedin Home of Honeymoon Island". The Dunedin Home of Honeymoon Island brand (Brand) was established for promoting tourism as noted by the United States Patent & Trademark Office, which issued a registered trademark for the Brand on February 25, In addition, a Brand Standards Manual was created to ensure the appropriate use and depiction of that registered Brand. City Seal The City Clerk's Office uses the City's official seal when attesting official City documents. The City Seal has been replaced with the Brand on City stationary, employee uniforms and on City vehicles. The Seal is prominently displayed in the Commission chambers behind the dais. It is also included on many bronze dedication plaques around the City. City Flags With the adoption of the Brand, the City began flying two flags. One flag, more ceremonial in nature, presents the City seal. The other flag presents the Brand. Following is a summary of the location where these two flags are flown. 2 Both flags, in varying sizes, are available for public purchase from The Flag Company aka Vet 's Flags at 1360 Cleveland Street in Clearwater. At present, they are not available for purchase from the City or Chamber of Commerce. A few of their standard sizes and prices are listed below. Also, Purple Heart Park flies a Prisoner of War- Missing in Action (POW-MIA) flag which was previously flown at 737 Louden Avenue and the United States of America flag is displayed prominently throughout the City. The Florida Department of State is the custodian of the official State of Florida Flag and maintains a Flag protocol and Display webpage. The purposes of the Flag Protocol of the Executive Office of the Governor are to outline the procedures regarding the lowering of the National and State Flags to half-staff by directive; to provide information regarding the display of special flags; and to answer frequently asked questions received in that office about flag protocol.

3 ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DUNEDIN, FLORIDA, ADOPTING AN OFFICIAL COAT OF ARMS, COLORS AND TARTAN, MOTTO AND FLAG FOR!HE CITY AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATB HEREOF. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Dunedin has deemed it appropriate to take official action by ordinance to adopt a Coat of Arms, official City colors, an official City motto and a City flag; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DUNEDIN, FLORIDA, IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED: Section 1. That the City Commission of the City of Dunedin does hereby adopt a Coat of Arms to be the official Coat of Arms of the City and to be displayed in all appropriate circumstances, said Coat of Arms to be as is reflected on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. Section 2. That the City Commission ot the City of Dunedin does hereby adopt green and white as the offic~al colors of the City and the official tartan of the City is the tartan of the Elliot Clan, a sample of which shall be kept on file in the office of the City Clerk. Section 3. That the City Commission o[ the City of Dunedin does hereby adopt the official motto!or th_e City of Dunedin which shall be 11 Dunedin on the Gulf." Section 4. That the City Commission of the City of Dunedin does hereby adopt the official: flag for the City of Dunedin, said flag to be as is reflected on Exhibit "B" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and adoption.
