COUNTY OF STURGEON Edmonton, Tuesday, May 11, The Executive Council has had under consideration the report of the Honourable the Minister of Municipal Affairs and the Honourable the Minister of Education, dated May loth, 1965, stating that: Whereas the County of Sturgeon No. 15 was incorporated by Order in Council 1906/60; and Whereas pursuant to the provisions of section 4a of The County Act, the electors of the County have voted at a plebiscite in favour of reverting to the form of government in effect immediately prior to the incorporation of the said County; and Whereas section 4a of The County Act provides that the ~ieutenan~ Governor in Council shall do all things necessary to give effect to the decision of the electors as determined by the said plebiscite:

2 Therefore, upon the recommendation of the Honourable the Minister of Municipal Affairs and the Honourable the Minister of Education, the ~xecutive Council advises: (1) That effective as on and from July 12th, 1965, the dis.~e,d_a~nd in its stead a municipal district * nici~al Dlstrict of Sturgeon No. 90 8nd a school &vision to be known as the Sturgeon ~choolbivision No. 24 shall be incorporated. (2) That the Municipal District of Sturgeon No. 90 shall consist of the lands described in Schedule "A" hereto, which forms part of this Order; and further, that the Municipal District be divided into seven electoral divisions as described in the said Schedule "A". (3) That the Sturgeon School Division No. 24 shall consist of the school districts described in Schedule "B" hereto attached and which forms part of this Order; and further, that the school division be divided into five subdivisions as described in the said Schedule "B". (4) That the council of the County of Sturgeon No. 15 make all necessary arrangements to conduct a general election of a seven-member council for the said municipal district and a five-member board of trustees for the said school division with the elections to be conducted as nearly as possible in the same manner as general elections, in accordance with The Municipal District Act and The School Act, in that behalf. (5) That for the purpose of carrying out the election of a council for the Municipal District of Sturgeon No. 90, the county council shall proceed as follows: (a) appoint a returning officer-may 18th, 1965 (b) receive nominations-may 29th, 1965 (c) conduct the poll for the election of councillors-june 26th, 1965 (d) sum up the results of the electionjune 28th, 1965 at 2 p.m. in the County Office, Morinville (6) That for the purpose of carrying out the election of a board of trustees for the Sturgeon School Division No. 24, the county council shall proceed as follows: (a) appoint a returning officer-may 18th, 1965 (b) receive nominations--june 4th, 1965 (c) conduct the poll for the election of trustees-july 3rd, 1965 (d) Sum up the results of the election-july 5th, 1965 at 2 p.m. in the County Office, Morinville (7) That the first meeting of the new council of the Municipal District of Sturgeon No. 90 be held on Monday, July 12th, 1965, commencing at 10:OO a.m. (8) That the first meeting of the new Board of Trustees of the Sturgeon School Division No. 24 be held on Monday, July 12th, 1965, commencing at 2: 00 p.m. (9) That the terms of office of the candidates elected to the council of the Municipal District be determined in the manner provided by section 31 (2) of The Municipal District Act with the three candidates whose names are first drawn to hold office from July 12th, 1965 until the statutory first meeting to be held on the 3rd day of January, 1969, the two candidates whose names are next drawn to hold office from July 12th, 1965 until the statutory first meeting to be held on the 3rd 1111

THE ALBERTA GAZETTE, MAY 31, 1965 day of January, 1968 and the two candidates whose names are last drawn to hold office from July 12th, 1965 until the statutory first meeting to be held on the 3rd day of January, (10) That the terms of office of the candidates elected to the board of trustees of the Sturgeon School Division No. 24 shall be determined by the drawing of lots. The two members whose names are first drawn shall hold office from July 12th, 1965 until the first statutory meeting after the annual election in 1968, the two members whose names are next drawn shall hold office from July 12th, 1965 until the statutory first meeting after the annual election in 1967 and the member whose name is last drawn shall hold office from July 12th, 1965 until the statutory first meeting after the annual election in (11) That the council of the Municipal District of Sturgeon No. 90 and the Board of Trustees of the Sturgeon School Division No. 24 shall arrange for the settlement of assets and liabilities between the municipal district and school division and failing agreement, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and the Minister of Education adjudicate the same. Division No. 2 In range 23, the west one-third of township 55.. In range 24, all that part of township 53 lying north of the #north boundary of the City of Edmonton; all of townships 54 and 55. In range 25, in township 53, sections 25 and 36; the east one-sixth of township 54.
