The State Library staff who deal with state documents (Technical Services, Louisiana Collection, Recorders Office) have worked out a procedure for ephemera which uses level K MARC records to reduce cataloging time. We have created a master list of cataloger s titles and consolidated LaDoc numbers. These entries are identified in the shipping list. Retrospective conversion will be done sometime in the future when staffing levels support this effort. Beginning with., the shipping lists have some cataloger s titles and some documents that are ephemera but are not treated that way. These are items that were handled before the ephemera procedures were in place. The huge number of items, 1410, is partly because we counted the issues of SELU Bylion put into the Digital Archive. The Louisiana Conservationist calendar does not exist anymore. When the magazine moved to a quarterly publishing schedule the calendar was eliminated. The Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation began sponsoring a calendar as a fundraiser, with the edition. This calendar is published by the La Dept of Wildlife & Fisheries. The State Library Technical Services Dept. is following a current cataloging practice of not including agency URLs in record or updating existing ones. We will put new URLs in MSL as relevant titles occur. The La. Dept of State Civil Service has redesigned its website. The new URL is Just think of all the catalog records that are now invalid. The old levee districts still exist for levee maintenance but they do not have boards and probably will not have documents. The old boards minutes catalog records will be changed to ceased. These are the old boards: SLFPA-East covers seven consolidated districts: East Jefferson Levee District, Orleans Levee District (east bank), St. Tammany Levee District, Lake Borgne Basin Levee District, Tangipahoa Levee District, St. John the Baptist Levee District (east side), and St. Charles Levee District (east side). SLFPA-West covers West Jefferson and Algiers [before July it was Orleans West] levee districts. It doesn t have a website yet. 1

TriAngle is a newsletter, a joint publication of the Advocacy Center, La. Developmental Disabilities Council, and Human Development Center. We distribute it using the number of copies count for the Selection List exclusion F5: no staff/departmental newsletters. It may have been distributed before as a magazine. If you got copies then but are not getting copies now because you excluded newsletters, you can discard issues without offering them or getting approval. This month we received audits of Madison Parish School Board MaPSB/. When I looked at the LaDoc numbers, I decided that the existing ones and those of Morehouse Parish should be changed to distinguish between the two parishes audits. If you have Madison Parish audits, all MP... should be changed to Ma.. These are beautiful items. They have been a challenge at our end and storing the large posters may be at your end. The 1 to 4 copies were distributed to the State Library, LSU-BR and LaTech. The posters were considered ephemera so received a cataloger s title and consolidated LaDoc number. Exhibit catalogs were cataloged as monographs.
