The ending of the scourge of enslavement allowed African Americans to contribute so much to our society that often goes unrecognized. In 1893 African American Dr. Daniel Harris performed the first successful open heart surgery in America. Help us to always be mindful that true freedom, frees all of us to reach our God given potentials. Amen
