3 Respect for the rule of law Ethos Science and Technology PE Following the Golden rules Topic lessons in KS2 - how the law has changed over time and the consequences to those who did not follow the law and the impact it has on other cultures Working scientifically Fair testing Following rules for the safety of all Understanding the need to have speed limits (speed, force, change of momentum) Algorithms and computer coding DT (pulleys and levers) User rights/ website rules (i.e. age restrictions for games, social media sites) Accepting the decision of the referee Fair play Learning the laws of games Understanding spirit of games, how they are played Respect for the rule of law in our values:

4 Democracy Ethos School council and election build up Friends of Oasis Shirley Park - parent s have a say what the school environment is like Topic lessons teach how democracy has changed over time and the impact it had over the culture of a culture/country Where it fits, lessons are taught where the children s views are taken into account Restorative justice is used to sort out problems between children. Children discuss a suitable solution that fits all parties. P4C sessions School mantra: every question is answered by every child Pupil voice development plan Science and Technology Debate on global issues, such as climate change Democracy in our values:

5 Individual Liberty Ethos Science and Technology PE In History lessons children discuss how role models fought for equality and freedom Topic lessons discuss how important people sacrificed themselves to ensure we get the freedom we have today Topic lessons look at other cultures and compare with our own cultures and discuss ways we can help so that they can have the same individual liberties we have Lessons explore children s opinions and their opinions are taken into account. Especially in P4C and SEAL. Children can express themselves in art, singing and drama Daily reflections Human diversity E-Safety Freedom to take part in organised activities Individual liberty in our values:

RE lessons teach about different faiths and beliefs Trips to a different faiths religious place of worship take place every year for each year group Topic lessons encourage cultural diversity School displays in the main hall celebrate different faiths The Academy celebrates Christmas, Eid and Diwali as they are the 3 main faiths in the school.
