2 Why religious and ethnic conflict? To ensure the excluded peopleget opportunities and resources neededto participate fully in social life (ekososbud) and have a standard of well-being that is considered normal in the community where they live.

4 Goal & objective Objective 1 : Strengthening social relation among people and stakeholder Goal : To foster multiculturalism by strengthening social inclusion of excluded people living in areas of religious and ethnic conflict. Objective 4 : Strengthening branches in managing the program of fostering multiculturalism by strengthening social inclusion of excluded people living in areas of religious and ethnic conflict Objective 2: Improving the access of excluded groups to the services. Objective 3 : Influencing local government on developing regulations that promote multiculturalism and social inclusion.

5 Design Rationale Root causes of the exclusion Economy: limitations on access to resources such as not living with decent (dipengungsian), lack of water. Culture: the limitations on the freedom of expression of culture, belief / faith such as practicingreligion freely, establishing places of worship. Politics: limitations on participation in decision-making such as meetings at the village level, joining the election. Social: limitations on participation in social life because of the negative stigma, evicted from their homes, rejected from society. program addresses Economy: to ensure the distribution of economic services (resources) are fair for the excluded people. Culture: to ensure the freedom of expression of their culture, faith/beliefs. Politics: will ensure participation in decisionmaking. Social: to encourage social relations that is tolerant, respectful, pluralist, in order to create multiculturalism.

9 Activities strategy 1. Campaign and dialogue to develope the individual and collective awareness on the social inclusion and multiculturalism issues. 2. Advocacy to promote public recognition and promulticulturalism policies. 3. Collaborating with local CSO (branches), organizing the excluded groups and building a strong partnership with government, civil society and the private sector. 4. Advocacy and training for government to strengthen ethical, accountable political leadership. 5. Training for citizen involvement in monitoring changes. 6. Establishing strong community based organizations with marginalized and non-marginalized people. 7. Promoting legal and state institutional reform.

10 Branches & Beneficiaries Kuningan 100 Ahmadiyah couples whose marriages are not listed in the Office of Religious Affairs. Tanggerang Benteng Chinese in Mekarsari Village, Tangerang Regency, 350 households Pandeglang Jemaah Ahmadiyah, victims and person who have relation with victims which are identified about 100 KK (families). Indramayu Tahkmad or Dayak Hindu Budha Bumi Segandu Losarang Indramayu tribes,, 100 persons Pontianak Ethnic Conflict (Madura & Dayak. 150 household Jepara 120 households as targets Manado Muslims in the Kaima Village, Kauditan Subdistrict of North Minahasa Regency of North Sulawesi Province as many as 181 persons Bulukumba 190 persons of traditional tribes living in Tanah Toa, Kajang, Bulukumba Ambon Displaced victims of religious conflict cannot return to their land of origin (Laha IDPs).170 families Sampang Shiite residents in Nanggernang Hamlet, Karang Gayam Village, Omben Sub-district, Sampang Regency, Madura as many as 202 people Cimahi Jemaah Ahmadiyah in Cimahi around 419 persons Tasikmalaya alienated and attacked by different groups, Tarekat Idrisiyyah followers. 500 residents Cilacap 130 households spread in three sub-districts in Cilacap Klaten NU members intimidated by MTA (Majelis Tafsir al- Qur an) Mataram Ahmadiyah IDPs in Transito as many as 34 households (116 persons)
