Women have achieved historic levels of political representation in the National Assembly for Wales. Recently completed research has investigated the effects of this and of devolution on women s lives and this conference presents its findings. It addresses questions such as: What is it like to be a woman in politics? What progress has been made towards equal pay for women? What is being done about violence against women? How does Wales compare with Scotland and Northern Ireland? Speakers are drawn from government, the third sector and the university sector and pool their experiences to explore the future for women in Wales.
