1 1 Curriculum Vitae (CV) Rita Kiki Edozie (Ph.D.) Assistant Professor in International Relations SUMMARY: Rita Kiki Edozie is an Assistant Professor of International Relations at Michigan State University. Kiki's research interests include African affairs, comparative politics, democratization; and international political economy with a focus on development. She is the author of People Power and Democracy: the popular movement against military despotism in Nigeria, (Africa World Press, 2002); and has contributed scholarly articles and book chapters to several edited volumes and journals, including Journal of Third World Studies, African Studies Review, Africa Today and the Journal of Asian and African Studies. In 2006, she published The Sudan s Identity Wars and Democratic Route to Peace in Santosh Saha eds. (Rowman and Littlefield, 2006). Along with a co-edited volume with Peyi Soyinika-Airwele of Ithaca College entitled Reframing Contemporary Africa: Politics, Economics and Culture in a Global Era (forthcoming, CQ Press), Kiki is also in the process of publishing a single-authored scholarly book on democracy in Africa, entitled, Reconstructing Africa's Third Wave: Comparative African Democratic Politics (University Press of America, in press 2008). Before joining MSU, Kiki earned her PhD in Political Science from the New School for Social Research in New York City. She was also the Deputy Director of the Institute of African Studies at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), and was an assistant professor with the department of political science and international relations at the University of Delaware.
