2 Kenya Nuclear Electricity Board Established in November 2012 as NEPIO (Nuclear Energy Programme Implementing Organization.) 1. National Economic & Social Council (NESC) in April 2010 recommended Nuclear power for Kenya 2. Nuclear Electricity Project Committee (NEPC) was formed in 2010, to fast track the development of Kenya s Nuclear power programme 3. NEPC was elevated to a Board, KNEB, 2012 Functions Development of Legal and regulatory framework Prefeasibility and feasibility study Publicity and advocacy Capacity building and Human Resource development and planning Bilateral agreements for nuclear Power programme
