2 ü Aqaba Petroleum for Oil Shale Co. signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Jordan represented by Natural Resources Authority (NRA) in April ü The MOU area (450 km 2 ) is vast and essentially unexplored. ü The Company was registered in Jordan as a Private Shareholding Company (Psc) under registration number (688). 2
3 Ø Owners: ü 45% : Marvol Group (S-Africa co.) ü 45% : Development & Investment Projects Fund of Jordan Armed Forces ü 10% : Krzhizhanovsky Power Engineering Institute (ENIN), Moscow, Russia. Ø ENIN is the Technology provider of UTT-3000 installation plant. 3
4 v To fulfill the MOU requirements; ü ü Explore, appraise and delineate an area containing at least One Billion tons of oil shale. Conduct and deliver to NRA a Feasibility Study (FS) with a Business Development plan on the selected area. v Sign Concession agreement with Gov. of Jordan. v Construct and install surface retorting plant. 4
5 Ø Conduct geological and geophysical studies as specified in the Exploration Program of the MoU. Ø Carry out necessary activities to assess the resource and determine potential success of a commercial oil shale development based on surface retorting. Ø Attract investors (partners) to support project implementation. 5
