1 DANUBIUS UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL HISTORY, FACULTY OF ARTS, COMENIUS UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF POLITICAL SCIENCES AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS, MATEJ BEL UNIVERSITY September Piešťany / Bratislava War as an Anthropological and Historical Phenomenon in the Era of Globalisation International academic conference on the occasion of the 70 th anniversary of the end of World War II Date: September 24 25, 2015 Place: Hotel Park Avenue Piešťany/ Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava Aim of the conference: The main aim of the conference is to continue a tradition of annual academic conferences, started by Danubius University, and to provide scholars with an opportunity to exchange scholarly knowledge and both theoretical and practical experience, to identify and analyse current political, legal and social issues in the fields of international relations and existing or threatening war conflicts, to propose possible solutions and prognose the scenarios of future developments.

2 Topics: The end of World War II in the historical context; War as an extreme way of interaction in the international relations; World globalisation; International relations in contemporary world (myths and reality); Politics and policies (international politics, geopolitics, state policies, regional policies) and the ways they address international relations; Legal aspects and legislation in international relations; Migration processes and their impact upon international crises; The objective of conference is to bring together scholars and PhD candidates with various disciplinary approaches, especially from the fields of humanities, social sciences, political sciences and legal studies. The conference is interdisciplinary and it focuses on the current aspects of international relations, including economic globalisation, economic crisis and other structural tensions and their possible solutions. Against this backdrop, we are looking for contributions which draw on law, history, philosophy, social policies, political science, theory of international relations, European studies, sociology, ethics, economy and other social sciences and humanities. Languages: Slovak, Czech, English, Russian Important dates: Abstracts till May 30, 2015 Contributions for an edited volume till October 15, 2015 Costs: Conference is free. Registration for an active participation includes: Possibility to attend all the sections of conference, Lunch and snacks, Article in an edited reviewed volume.

4 Submission guidelines: We invite papers and panels in the length of 5 25 pages of text (time for the panel presentation will be limited to 15 minutes). Contributions will be published in an edited peerreviewed volume. If you are interested in an active participation and plenary presentation, please wait for the confirmation of your participation by . As the next step, you will obtain further organisational details, including the programme of the conference, and information on the section selected for your contribution. Authors are kindly asked to meet the deadline for sending the paper October 15, Papers received after deadline will not be published in the volume. Please use font Times New Roman, characters 12, spacing 1.0 block levelling, and all margins 2.5 cm. The paper should be processed in the text editor WORD 2000 or higher. Structure of paper: title in Slovak and English or Russian languages; name, surname; Slovak abstract Slovak key words; English or Russian abstract; English or Russian key words; text; bibliography; author s address and contact details.
