The three-day seminar is an opportunity for 25 participants to discuss, improve and enhance their knowledge and skills on current European and transatlantic affairs. The interaction with renown European professionals, diplomats and academics provides a great networking opportunity. Who should apply: young leaders from Central, Eastern and South-East Europe. Topics: transatlantic dialogue, EU strategic autonomy, Russia and NATO, Russia and EU, Croatia and Southeast Europe, Brexit, EU and NATO in Southeast Europe, National Security Strategy of the USA and Germany Methodology: discussions, debates, workshops and simulations. 4 LECTURERS Prof. Dr. Radovan Vukadinović, Professor of International Political Relations and president of the Atlantic Council of Croatia He earned his PhD from the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Zagreb where he later thought IR throughout his academic career. He is engaged as lecturer at varioues faculties in Croatia, in SOE and worldwide. He is member of ISA, IPSA, International Institute for Strategic Studies(London), Member of Advisory Board of the International Institute for Peace (Vienna). His most recent books include USA and Russia, Theories of Foreign Policy, International Relations. Prof. Vukadinovic was warded by The Netherlands Institute of International Relations, The Hague, Sorbonne Paris, COPRI-Copenhagen for his scientific work. Among others he received a medal Knez Branimir by the President of Croatia for development of the science of international relations. Dr. Sebastian von Münchow, Lecturer of Security Studies and International/European Law, George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies Dr. von Münchow studied law at the Free University of Berlin, the Université de Lausanne and the Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel. He earned his doctorate in international relations from the University of Vienna. His thesis focused on the United Nation mission in Cambodia as a case study for multilateral engagements in post conflict peace-building. He worked for the OSCE in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Kosovo where he led the legislative reform section. He served in the Police Assistance Mission of the EU in Tirana, he worked for the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe in Brussels where he headed initiatives to strengthen the home and justice sectors. After returning to Germany, Dr. von Münchow became government official and worked for several years in the Federal Chancellery where he dealt with questions related to security issues, parliamentary oversight and terrorism. Andreas List, EEAS, Bruxelles Andreas List is a EU diplomat with decades of experience with and in Asia, North Africa and the Balkans. Before joining the diplomatic service of the European Union he worked for the Austrian Foreign ministry in Vienna, Belgrade, Rabat, Jakarta, Tokyo and Tunis. In the EU External Service he served as the first Head of Office in Yangon, Myanmar, and later as EU Senior Coordinator for ASEAN. He focuses on international political, economic and social issues and on EU foreign and developmental policies. Currently he advises the Foreign Ministry of the youngest EU Member State, Croatia. Andreas List holds a doctorate in law (University Vienna) and has studied at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana, USA, and at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium. Davor Ivo Stier, europarliamentarian and former Minister of Foreing and European affairs of the Republic of Croatia Davor Ivo Stier graduated from the Faculty of Political Science at the Catholic University of Buenos Aries where he obtained degrees in both Political science & International relations as well as Journalism. He also completed a post graduate course at the World Politics Institute in Washington on Crisis management. He served in the Croatian diplomatic service from 1996 until 2011 where he held various positions, most notably serving at the Croatian Embassy in the United States from 1998 until 2002 as well as at the permanent mission of the Republic of Croatia to NATO from 2003 to In 2011 he was elected as a representative to the Croatian parliament where he served as vice-chair of the Parliamentary committee on foreign policy. In 2014 he was elected as a representative to the European parliament where he is now serving his second term. From 2016 to 2017 he served as Deputy Prime Minister and as Minister of Foreign and European affairs of the Republic of Croatia in the government of Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

5 Dr. Sandro Knezović, senior researcher, IRMO Dr. Sandro Knezović is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Development and International Relations in Zagreb (Croatia). He earned his academic degree in Political Science at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb. His research is concentrated on IR topics, especially those related to international and European security (CFSP/CSDP), the EU and NATO enlargement and its impact on the region of Southeast Europe. He was the first Croatian visiting researcher fellow at the renowned EU Institute for Security Studies in Paris and a visiting lecturer at several universities in Japan. He is a member of numerous international expert teams and research networks and he has participated as a researcher on many international research projects and he has published a number of scientific and professional papers and books related to the field of his expertise. M-r Talat Xhaferi, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia Mr Talat Xhaferi holds a Master`s degree in defense, previously Specialized in Command and Staff duties at the Military Academy "General Mihailo Apostolski" in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia while before that, he graduated at the Land Forces Military Academy in Belgrade and Sarajevo. He has been an officer in the army of the National Army of Yugoslavia and after that of Macedonia since 1988 until In 2002 he involves in politics and becomes member of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia. In he serves as a Deputy minister of Defense of the Republic of Macedonia. After that he is elected again a member of the Parliament in two terms, and , and Minister of Defense in term In he is elected as a member of the Parliament and again in In may 2017 he is elected a Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia. During his term as an MP, he has been a coordinator of the DUI (the party he derives from), member of different Committees in the Assembly, and at the moment he is Chair of the Committee on Constitutional Issues, Head of the Delegation of Republic of Macedonia to the IPU and Delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia to the PA of the SEEPC. Marko Savković, Program Director of Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence and Belgrade Security Marko Savković graduated (2005) and received his M. Phil. degree (2011) at the Belgrade Faculty of Political Science. He worked in the BCSP as a researcher (from 2006 to October 2013) and the PR (from 2009 to march 2012). His areas of research interest include accountability and transparency in the security sector, peace support operations, the politics of EU security, and defence in the Western Balkans Savkovic s papers were published in the academic journals Western Balkans Security Observer, Military Papers (Vojno delo), The Security Review (Revija za bezbednost) and International Politics (Međunarodna politika), as well as the magazines Defence (Odbrana) and European Papers (Evropske sveske). Also, Savkovic coordinated the project School for European Security from November 2008 until November 2009 and co-authored the Pojmovnik evropske bezbednosti (Glossary of European Security) Branimir Tojčić, Head of NATO and the EU Department, Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia Colonel Branimir Tojčić is, at his current position, in charge of defence policy issues related to Croatian participation in both organizations. He began his military career in 1991 in the 4 th Guards Brigade of the Croatian Army and performed series of duties at the policy and plans level in which he participated in preparation of numerous strategic, policy, planning and doctrinal documents within the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff. He was heavily involved in the process of Croatian accession to NATO. Among his tours abroad, he served as the assistant defence attaché to the Croatian Embassy to the United States, as well as the strategic planner in the U.S. Central Command in Tampa, Florida.He is a graduate of the French Ecole de Guerre in Paris, and on the civilian side he earned his journalism degree at the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb.
