The information provided by the Statute Service is public information and may be shared with other criminal justice agencies/personnel as well as the general public as needed for criminal justice and non-criminal justice purposes. 4 Communications Network Requirements The Statute Service is a publicly accessible Internet based application to search and validate statute citations and StatuteID s. The link for the Statute Service is: Service Overview The Minnesota Statute Service provides access to all criminal charging and sentencing statutes, including citation, charges, penalties, modifiers and statute definitions. MN Statute Service contains the current statutes and historic statutes. MN Statute does not contain information about crimes or a record of criminal activity by an individual. The Statute Service provides a browser based application which allows consumers to: Search for a list of statutes from the database meeting specific criteria (Chapter and Section number, keyword, in effect, no longer in effect, etc). Obtain a copy of all the statutes (active and inactive) or all active statutes. Retrieve a single statute using a unique StatuteId. Retrieve statutes via a report that have changed during a particular date range. Subscribe to receive notifications about statute updates. Search for statutes that are flagged for specific purposes, for example statutes for offenses that need to be reported to DNR and certified by DPS.
