5 STAATSKOERANT, 12 OKTOBER 212 No No. R October 212 VETERINARY AND PARA-VETERINARY PROFESSIONS ACT, 1982 (ACT No. 19 OF 1982) REGULATIONS RELATING TO CONTINUED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF VETERINARY PROFESSIONS: AMENDMENT The Minister of Agriculture has under section 43 of the Veterinary and Para- Veterinary Professions Act, 1982 (Act No. 19 of 1982), amended the regulations published by Government Notice No. R.285 of 1 October 1982, as amended by the regulations published by Government Notices Nos. R.1994 of 11 September 1987 (as corrected by Government Notice No. R.2199 of 2 October 1987), R.397 of 4 March 1988, R.167 of 17 May 1991,R.11 of 3 January 1992, R.976 of 27 March 1992, R.1477 of 23 September 1994, R.47 of 2 January 1995, R.71 of 12 May 1995, R.141 of 15 September 1995, R.561 of 1 Apri11996, R.256 of 14 February 1997, R.257 of 14 February 1997, R.96 of 16 January 1998, R.51 of 1 April 1998, R.751 of 5 June 1998, R374 of 26 March 1999, R.422 of 1 April 1999, R.618 of 23 June 2, R.734 of 17 August 21, R.324 of 22 March 22, R.1571 of 2 December 22, R.562 of 2 May 23, R.275 of 5 March 24, R.568 of 7 May 24 R.679 of 4 June 24, R.343 of 15 April 25, R.249 of 24 March 26, R.16 of 2 March 27, R319 of 2 April 27 and R 322 of 2 April 27 to the extent set out in the Schedule; and the said amendment shall come into operation on date of publication. SCHEDULE Insertion of Regulation The Regulations are hereby amended by the insertion of the following regulation after regulation 5.13:

6 6 No GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, 12 OCTOBER 212 "Veterinarians that attend an accredited course with the option of completing formal tests evaluating the progress of the attendee, could claim 1,5 times the accredited hours provided tests were passed with a minimum of 6%"; Insertion of Regulation 8.4, 8.5, 8.6 and The Regulations are hereby amended by the insertion of the following regulations after regulation 8.3: "8.4 The form is the only data required of veterinary professionals. It should be duly completed so that it accurately reflects a veterinary professional's CPD activities for the three-year cycle just completed. 8.5 The form is the record that needs to be submitted should the veterinary professional be selected in the randomly selected audits. 8.6 An individual drawn in the audit may submit the data and copies of CPD certificates to the South African Veterinary Council by hand delivery, post, fax, and/or electronic mail. 8.7 Veterinary professionals who are non-compliant or who do not submit their CPD records will automatically be included in the next audit."
