Participants will be educated on the recruiting Fifth tactics level of traffickers, challenges to breaking free, and the services available to victims and survivors. Additionally, the session will explore the intersection with the Child Welfare system, and share collaborative resources available to primary and secondary victims, as well as the integration of care to include family members and/or support persons. 3/29/2017 3

13 SB 794 Continued SB 794 identifies HT victims: An individual subject to the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for the purposes of a commercial sex act. OR A victim of a severe form of trafficking in a person in which a commercial sex act is included by force, fraud, or coercion or which the person induced to perform the act is under 18 years of age. SB 794 Incorporated this definition in the Penal Code which clarifies, child sex trafficking must be reported as child abuse by a mandated reporter. 3/29/

14 SB 794 Continued Click to edit Master text styles Reporting Requirements for Child Welfare and Probation Must report to appropriate law enforcement agencies Any child/youth who is receiving child welfare services and is identified as a CSEC victim Any child/youth who is receiving child welfare services and is reasonably believed to be or at risk as a CSEC victim AND is missing or abducted must be reported with-in 24 hours to LE authority so the info can be entered into the FBI National Crime Information Database and it also must be reported to National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
