Professor CHUAN Han-sheng ( ), Academician of Academia Sinica and a renowned Chinese historian specialising in Chinese Economic History, was one of the founders of the field of Modern Chinese Economic History. The lecture series is co-sponsored by the following institutions: Nanyang Technological University, the New Asia Research Institute, The University of Queensland, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shandong University, Tsinghua University and Wuyi University. Past speakers of the Chuan Han-Sheng Lecture include Professor Wang Yeh-Chieh (Academia Sinica, Taiwan) and Professor Wang Gungwu (East Asian Institute, Singapore).
