2 MADE IN ITALY To protect national products TTIP and CETA should be dealt with cautiously POSITIVE NARRATIVE Urgent need to change the narrative on the EU and the concept of a European citizenship MORE EU INTEGRATION Political Union through more fiscal, energy, banking, transport and service integration ITALY SHOULD COUNT MORE IN to become a major player in the Mediterranean ITALY IN IS THE ONLY POSSIBILITY FOR ITALY TO KEEP TRACK OF THE FUTURE ITALY AS THE MED HUB Within the European energy framework, Italy plays a crucial role both in terms of its economic relevance and strategic position at the crossroads of many pipelines To have more growth, rights, democracy, freedom, opportunities, security, environmental protection, Italy needs more Europe 2

Discrepancies between Italian national security interests and NATO s: Italy should withdraw from all NATO military commitments A STRONGER MEANS A STRONGER NATO THE CREATION OF A AN ARMY WOULD NOT COMPETE WITH NATO BUT RATHER HELP IT BECOME MORE EFFICIENT 6
