"Syrian Gov t Air Strikes Rock Al-Muzeireeb Town in Southern Syria" Palestinian refugee in Germany rises to fame following rapid language acquisition, active engagement in linguistic tuition Aids handed out to Palestinian families in Qudsaya, in Rural Damascus Relief items delivered to Palestinian families in southern Turkey

Latest Developments The Syrian government warplanes on Thursday hit the eastern corners of Syria s southern town of Al-Muzeireeb with two air strikes. Located some 11 kilometers away from northwestern Deraa province, Al- Muzeireeb town is a home to some 8,500 Palestinian refugees, mostly displaced from northern occupied Palestine. Hundreds of families displaced from Deraa Camp have also been housed in the area. Onslaughts rocking the town over recent months took away the lives of several civilians and left dozens of others wounded. Heavy material damage has also been inflicted on civilian buildings and structures in the town. AGPS documented the death of 38 Palestinian refugees sheltered in Al- Muzeireeb since the outburst of bloody hostilities in Syria.

In another development, Palestinian refugee in Germany Ibrahim Shehabi, a resident of Khan Al-Sheih Camp, has become a success story after he had rapidly learned the German language. Shehab has not only managed to enhance his communicative knack in the asylum country but has also been actively engaged in language instruction projects aiming to enhance the refugees linguistic output in the western German town of Ratingen, in the district of Mettmann, in North Rhine-Westphalia. I learned the German language just one year and four months after I reached Germany, said Ibrahim. I have been involved in translating medical and government documents for the refugees. Ibrahim added that he has earned the respect and admiration of several German national, who have helped him further improve his communicative skills.

Ibrahim delivered a speech in which he lauded the German people and spoke up for the tragic situation in war-torn Syria. German newspapers acclaimed Ibrahim s dynamic involvement in language-instruction projects in Ratingen, where he met with the mayor, education stakeholders, and Diakonie s chairman, in an attempt to smooth the refugees foreign language acquisition. A sum of 2,500 was donated by the Düsseldorf airport administration in recognition of Ibrahim s outstanding contribution and as part of underway attempts to appoint Arab teachers aides. Civil Action Commissions The Charity Commission for the Relief of the Palestinian People distributed milk and toddler diapers to dozens of displaced Palestinian families seeking shelter in Qudsaya town, in Rural Damascus. The move makes part of the Urgent Appeal campaign kicked off in a number of Palestinian refugee camps and communities.

Nearly 6,000 displaced Palestinian families, mostly from the Damascusbased Yarmouk shelter, have been taking refuge in Qudsaya town, where they have been grappling with dire socio-economic conditions. Meanwhile, the Khaira Ummah charity delivered much-needed relief items to Palestinian and Syrian families sheltered in the southern Turkish town of Al-Rihaniya. Palestinian and Syrian families reportedly received winter clothes, blankets, coal, and children s kit. According to unofficial data, some 8,000 Palestinian refugees are sheltered in Turkey. Palestinians of Syria: January 20, 2017 Statistics: At least 3,421 Palestinians, including 455 women, were killed in wartorn Syria. 1,146 Palestinian refugees, including 81 women, are incarcerated in Syrian government lock-ups. Yarmouk refugee camp has been blockaded by the Syrian regime army and Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command (PFLP-GC) for 1,311 days in a row. 190 Palestinians died of undernourishment and medical neglect in the blockaded Yarmouk Camp. Water supplies cut off in Deraa and Yarmouk camps respectively for 1,015 and 828 days.

Residents of Handarat Camp, in Aleppo, denied access to their homes for 1,358 days. Government battalions have been holding sway over the camp for more than 92 days. Government troops ban residents of Al-Sbiena Camp from returning to their homes for 1,164 days running. Over 79,000 Palestinian Syrian refugees fled to Europe until mid ,000 Palestinians from Syria are housed in Lebanon. 17 Palestinians from Syria are taking refuge in Jordan. 6,000 Palestinian-Syrian refugees are sheltered in Egypt. 8,000 Palestinian-Syrian refugees are taking shelter in Turkey. 1,000 Palestinian-Syrian refugees are sheltered in the blockaded Gaza Strip.
