1 WELCOME TO MAURITIUS Tourists coming to spend their holidays in Mauritius must :- hold a passport which is valid at least six months as from the date of arrival; hold a valid return ticket to the country of origin or residence; have a confirmed booking for accommodation and sufficient funds to meet the costs of their stay on the island (i.e US$ 100 per night); be eligible to return to their country of origin or residence. So as to enable you to have an enjoyable stay in Mauritius, please read the instructions given in the table below. The given information is of particular relevance to visitors who require a tourist visa. No visa is required for nationals of the European Union and most Commonwealth countries. An Application Form for visa to be filled and signed by the applicant. The form is available on the following website: Two recent passport size photographs of the applicant; Photocopy of the data pages of the passport; A copy of the residence permit of the applicant where he/she is a resident and which is valid for three months after the date of departure; Please allow 4 to 5 working days for administrative procedures before the visa is granted. Requirement (2) as per above table For countries in the above table where Requirement (2) applies, the formalities for a visa request remain the same as in the case of Requirement (1) except that the Passport and Immigration Office will seek clearance from the Prime Minister s Office before granting the visa. Requirement (3) as per above table Nationals from the following countries do not require a visa for a stay of less than two months:- India

7 China Jordan Lebanon If you are very lucky and you wish to spend holidays over a period of more than two months, formalities for a visa request remain the same as in Requirement (1) above. Requirement (4) as per above table Nationals of Mozambique who are holders of ordinary passports may be granted sixty (60) days in a calendar year for their holidays. However, if they coming to Mauritius over several trips, each visit shall not exceed thirty (30) days. Extension de visa You are enjoying your stay in Mauritius and you wish to extend your holidays?
