Justification for each revision: This is a dual-level course. The revision represents a change in title only to better reflect course content compared to the previous title. The title for both ANS 453 and 553 should have been changed to this new title at the same time for fall This revision is to correct the fact that only the title for ANS 453 was changed and, currently, ANS 453 and ANS 553 have a different title. 5 This is not a new course. The course is already part of the Animal Science curriculum. Course Objectives/Goals Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course students will be able to: Define terms important in the area of growth; Describe how skeletal connective tissue, adipose tissue and muscle tissue grow as an animal matures; List and explain how specific factors regulate the growth process; Describe genetic aspects of growth traits; and Explain the relationship of the growth process to the efficiency of animal production.
