BBQ Festival Update The Harvest & BBQ on Barkley Fest is on track to be the best festival yet! By combining the best of the BBQ On Barkley Fest and the Kuttawa Harvest Fest, we have come up with what is sure to be the highlight of the season. Volume 1, Issue 2 Page 3 Meet Your Vice President Amy Defew has been a member of the Chamber and Board of Directors for a number of years. As Program Chair last year, she spearheaded our extremely successful coat drive and was instrumental in making our annual dinner a hugh success. Amy is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Kentucky Barkley Lakes Board of Realtors, and the Marshall Co. Chamber of Commerce in addition to being an active force with our Chamber. Amy is also a member of the Lyon County Board of Education. In addition to her vice presidential duties, Amy is continuing to work this year with our Program Committee. She and her husband Matt reside in Eddyville with their four children. Amy is a definite plus for our Chamber and we are pleased to have her as Vice President! Welcome New Members! Volume 1, Issue 2 Page 4 July Executive Board Meeting Minutes LAKE BARKLEY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING JULY 14 TH, 2011 Board members in attendance: Jim Stott, Karen Wallace, Amy Riley, Amy Defew, Trent Gibson, Melissa Wynn, Michelle McCollum, and Rick Fullard. Others in attendance: Dave Baxter, Don Gabbard, Robin Pool, Nancy Slaton, Marty Richie, Rinnie Bryant, Levi Holsapple, Ladonna Allred, Jody Selph, and Wade White. Jim Stott called the meeting to order. Trent Gibson introduced Marty Richie. Marty Richie spoke about his company, Analysis that builds websites. Don Gabbard spoke about upcoming Tradewater Pirates game on July 19 th, 2011. Rick Fullard spoke about obesity and exercise and possibly having a camp. Rinnie Bryant spoke about having fun while exercising. He explained he wanted to speak to children about exercise being fun. He also said he wanted to bring exercise and having fun to the community. Dave Baxter spoke about a Car Show on August 13 th, 2011 that is put on by Champions Against Drugs. He asked the Chamber for a $25.00 donation to purchase trophies to be handed out at the Car Show. He also spoke about the program Character Counts. Rick Fullard made a motion to do both programs. Trent Gibson seconded the motion. Jody Selph gave the Face of the Chamber report. Explained she took pictures of the Fiscal Court and Signs & Signs. Deb s Barber Shop and Goody s both want to do ribbon cuttings. Amy Defew made a motion to approve June minutes. Amy Riley seconded the motion.

Jim Stott spoke about the name change and our name will be changed to Lake Barkley Chamber of Commerce. Jim Stott spoke about the new chamber website. He explained the cost for the website will be $239.00 per year. Amy Defew made a motion to approve the website. Michelle McCollum seconded the motion. Amy Defew spoke about the 5k run/walk. The 5k was pushed back until spring due to date available this year. Amy suggested doing it in March 2012. Michelle McCollum spoke about monthly mixers. Ladonna Allred, Karen Wallace, and Amy Riley volunteered. It was decided that the mixers would be held on the third Thursday of the month from 6-8 p.m. Jim mentioned signature change from Jaison Riley to Amy Riley. Rick Fullard made a motion to change signatures and put Amy on. Amy Defew seconded the motion. Rick Fullard spoke about the State Chamber of Commerce meeting he attended in Louisville. Amy Defew made a motion to adjourn. Amy Riley seconded the motion. Jim Stott adjourned the meeting.
